Maybe a bit...but even with that one, I don't think I could do more than a 48" auger with a B2601 without dragging it. I talked with the salesperson at EA and we settled on this one being the correct one for my tractor.

Yep...I learned about the "lie" concerning all PHD augers. We got a 6" and 9" 48" models and they only get 32-36 consistently. But that's all we needed! I enjoyed learning how to use the tool and we are almost done...need 5 more posts (wife will pick up tomorrow). Will be able to start...

Thx! So, if you get the factory option with both, its about a $1300 add. However, the parts alone cost over $2000. Definitely going to contact Messicks tomorrow and see what the options are.

I was thinking of TLB as just "Tractor, Loader, Backhoe" as a configuration. Hydraulic top link is what I meant to say.

So I got the EA submcompact model with a 48" auger. Worked great on re-digging my mailbox posthole. Will start doing all the post holes for the pasture/turnout in the next couple of weeks. Will give a better review then.

If I wanted to add a third function capability to the *rear* of my TLB B2601 so I could use a hydraulic top pin, what kit do I need? I already have factory third function for the loader for my grapple. Thx.

Yes. Seller says it fits a B as well. Part number sleuthing at Messicks seems to indicate this is true.

Sorta locked down here in WA state but getting work done clearing up the property - trying to locate a part number for the dust boot for the tie rod for a B2601 via the internet. Some of my interweb searching found a lot of discussion on the BX version and how the dealer only has the full tie...

EA sales guy was pretty adamant that the subcompact model was a better fit for my B2601 and have more power to withdraw. It will also reportedly have 15" travel clearance on a B2601 with a 48" bit. We'll see when it gets here! Wrt cost...I really want to do it on my own timetable so buying...

EA Sales is really pushing the subcompact one for the B...more leverage because it is shorter. He also said I could get it with a 48" auger and should have 15" of clearance fully raised on a B.

Thx for all the perspectives. I think I will go with one of the EA PTO ones. It does have the disadvantages mentioned but given the lower flow rates I have available on my tractor and the much higher cost of the SA20, it is probably the best compromise. Now I have to chose...Subcompact or...

There is a youtube video I can't link to because I am too new here, but If you google Messicks SA20 you will find it. It works, it's just slower.

Absolutely! Their compact version looks very tempting.

Kubota says the Land Pride SA-20 will work on my tractor...but yeah, what you point out is part of my dilema. Thx for the input.
