TG1860G / FD590V not starting, not sure what else to check

Changed the fuel filter and drained old fuel for new and now it's up and running.

TG1860G / FD590V not starting, not sure what else to check

Its 10% ethanol fuel with stable. The same fuel is used in my other small engines and works fine, but I suppose it doesn't hurt to try a fresh can.

TG1860G / FD590V not starting, not sure what else to check

FD590V engine not starting. It has fuel, spark, good air filter, and 175 and 180 psi compression. I've read these engines have issues with the plastic cam gears, is there a way to check if the any teeth are broken and it skipped without taking the whole engine apart? The engine was running good...

    Changing mind on oil changes

Oil bypass is on delta pressure, not total pressure. If the oil is 100psi on both sides of the valve it's not going to open. It likely opens for a split second at start until the oil pressure equalizes on both sides, which will be very quick because it's already mostly full, it's just...

Are all/most BX series fuel tanks interchangeable?

Not yet, I'm trying to gather as much info as possible before ripping the whole top of the tractor apart. I need to remove the fender (and everything necessary to take that off) to repair the hole anyway, so removing another fender probably isn't much more work to swap a tank.

Are all/most BX series fuel tanks interchangeable?

Previous owner drilled a hole through the back of the tank with a sheet metal screw putting new tail lights on. I had a previous thread asking about possible fixes, but if I can get a newer tank that fits for relatively cheap I'd prefer that over a patch.

Are all/most BX series fuel tanks interchangeable?

From the parts diagram it looks like BX2200 fuel tanks are different than pretty much any later BX series like the BX2350, but I'm not sure if they're entirely not interchangeable. Has anyone put a newer BX tank in an older BX? From the diagram it looks like some things moved like pickup, vent...

    WTB BX2750 snowblower impeller

I'd prefer not to pay full price if someone had one from a blower they parted out. I could always order one from messicks, but if no one has a used one I'll see if I can repair the one I have before buying new.

    FOR SALE: TG1860G with accessories

Bought a BX2200 that has all the same attachments, so this is literally just a second set of tools at the moment. I'd rather someone gets good use out of it versus it sitting in my garage collecting dust. Once my BX is done getting some tune ups I won't have a need for this one.

    FOR SALE: TG1860G with accessories

Selling my TG1860G (gas) mower with 54" mower deck, 46" snowblower, and 54" front blade. As far as I know these were all the accessories available for this mower. Has ~790 hours, but will go up since I still use it. Comes with wheel weights, chains, and extra snowblower belts. Snowblower has...

    Fuel tank repair

Has anyone used Marine Tex or Seal-All? Both seem to be impervious to fuels from what I've found. I bought the permatex plastic tank repair kit above. It says right on the back it's not for plastic fuel tanks, but for radiators and water tanks. That's actually the reason I made this thread. I...

    Fuel tank repair

Previous owner punctured the fuel tank leaving about 1/8 hole in the back behind the tail light. Pretty much every fuel tank repair epoxy or fiberglass kit says they are not meant for plastic fuel tanks, only metal tanks. Anyone know of a good epoxy that would hold up to diesel and works on the...

    BX25D Glow Plugs

Yes. They also do not need to be torqued down very hard. If they do not break loose relatively easy, don't force it. It's not unheard of to snap the hex head off the body of a glow plug, leaving the rest stuck in the engine. There are specific hammer socket type tools that make removing stuck...

    BX25D Glow Plugs

The plugs are basically a metal stick. They sometimes swell from the heat so they might not pull out cleanly/easily and need to be slowly twisted out. Careful not to bend them because the end can break and fall into the cylinder. Example plug, majority look similar to this.

    BX25D Glow Plugs

That's not quite right. 10 volts across 1 ohm will net 10 amps, and power is volts times current. The glow plugs would be around 100 watts. But that doesn't tell the whole story. 100 watts focused into a small point will be hotter than 100 watts over more material. Think of a 100 watt light...

    Save Super UDT2 fluid question

I've reused relatively clean fluid before. I used a couple coffee filters in the funnel to strain the fluid as it goes back in. Makes refilling slow, but then you know it's relatively clean and didn't pick up contaminants from the pan or dust in the air. If there's glitter in the oil I wouldn't...
