Best implement for grading— new house site?

The only thing better than a box blade or landscape rake is either of them with gauge wheels behind. Let the 3PH float and the gauge wheels will ensure level grading.

    dethatcher for 3 point hitch

I've had the 60" CPM thatcher rake for several years and find it very useful for several processes including raking ground after seeding grass.

Got a LARGE pizza you want to cut?

It is true that the "solid support (tube, i-beam, whatever)" creates an upward force on the top link bracket but only when the PHD is suspended in the out of ground non working mode. The typical down force kit, however, applies very different forces when digging a posthole. A parallel...

Got a LARGE pizza you want to cut?

It looks like the down force cylinder on a post hole digger puts a mostly horizontal force against the top link attachment point on the tractor. That would be fairly similar to the force applied by a roto tiller or most other implements when operating. I'm guessing that the damage shown in...

I heard at a farm show it was coming, Kubota price increase

Does this mean that my '87 Kubota B9200 is worth a lot of money now?

Got a LARGE pizza you want to cut?

I'm trying to visualize how this would be different from a 3PH post hole digger with a downforce cylinder.

    Direction change HST

In my opinion, the fact that the hydrostat pedal(s) are on the same side as the brake pedals is testament to the fact that you really don't need to use either of them at the same time. The hydrostat makes it so easy to do a sharp turn especially with these short wheel base compacts. I'm sure...

    Implement lowering speed knob

I'm sure this wasn't your problem but I've noticed that the knob on my B9200 can be very difficult to turn if there is a heavy load on the 3PH. Lowering the load to the ground before adjusting the knob solves that problem.

First time using my front (FEL) mount snow blade

I'm certainly no snow plow expert but one mounted on a front end loader should use the bucket tilt to keep the angle pivot vertical. That would prevent one end changing elevation relative to the other when the blade is angled left or right.

    Diverter valve

Looks like 5.0 cubic inches per minute max is the leakage spec on the valve. I doubt that is typical for all spool type selector valves and seems like a lot.

First time using my front (FEL) mount snow blade

I'm wondering how tilting the blade back works when angling the blade to either side. Doesn't sound like it would end well. Edit: Perhaps I'm not understanding how the blade is tilted back but if the pivot point for angling the blade is not in a vertical plane........

    Diverter valve

I use a mechanical diverter valve on the bucket tilt ports of the loader valve and have noticed some issues with leakage between the two resulting functions. Wondering if this is true with other diverters. Mine is a rotary spool type

    Valve Lash Adjustment B9200 (PIC)

Thanks to Wolfman and whitetiger for your help. Without it I would probably still be fighting the great lash struggle. The old girl is purring like a kitten now and happier than a clam ready for another thirty years of work. Edit: She blew out a huge puff of soot when starting the first time...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Any other stories or pictures of CUT's being "broken" due to overloading the FEL? I doubt that it is a common thing but interesting nonetheless.

    Valve Lash Adjustment B9200 (PIC)

End of saga, I hope. I found that your method here is the only way I could get the lash adjusted "properly" and it purrs like a kitten. Trying to use the markings on the flywheel simply did not work for me as I apparently don't understand them fully and could never be sure when #1 cylinder was...

    Valve Lash Adjustment B9200 (PIC)

OK--got the valves readjusted with number one cyl at the front end (radiator) of the engine. Got a question: Will the lifter (tappet) necessarily be at the lowest point on the cam when the piston is at TDC? Reason I'm asking is after setting the lash to 0.006" at TDC I'm finding a lower point...

    Valve Lash Adjustment B9200 (PIC)

Wow! Thanks for that info! That puts a whole new "twist" on it and more than likely explains the wide variances. I'm guessing that I will find the rest of the valves are "loose" as well--the ones that checked near the correct lash because of them being at other than TDC. Makes sense that...

    Valve Lash Adjustment B9200 (PIC)

I'm not a mechanic by any stretch but tried to follow the WSM exactly. Some of the valves were definitely in the area of 0.025" gap. It seems odd that the first two or three valves at the back end of the motor were very close to correct where the rest of them varied all over the place...
