BX Snow Blower PTO shaft came off while snow blowing.

Talked to the dealership today. The tractor is being picked up tomorrow morning. Salesman said that they were going to look to do most of the work under the blower's warranty. I'd asked about KTAC insurance and he'd said that that was a definite possibility. I hope so....and I hope they don't...

BX Snow Blower PTO shaft came off while snow blowing.

I do have the KTAC insurance. Didn't figure this would be covered though.

BX Snow Blower PTO shaft came off while snow blowing.

Went to throw the plow on to clean up some areas of the driveway. Noticed a decent amount of hydraulic oil on the floor. Checked the hydro oil level. Was a quart low. Got under the tractor and saw that the gas tank has a dent and the front cover to the front drive shaft is damaged. Not sure what...

BX Snow Blower PTO shaft came off while snow blowing.

All that I really have that may do it is a small bench vise. For the cost of replacement (~$300 on Messicks), I'd think a new one would be the safer move. I don't think it's over 1/8" out now.

BX Snow Blower PTO shaft came off while snow blowing.

All, I'm in agreement. I must not have tightened the set screws down on the bearings to the shaft. Yes, the shaft shifted forward. Which kind of surprised me because I couldn't budge it. I had to remove the bearing housings to move the shaft. Removed the shaft, cleaned it up, looked it over...

BX Snow Blower PTO shaft came off while snow blowing.

That's a good idea. I'm going to do that. I just got the shaft to move enough where I can get the blower off. I'll the inspect everything. As of now, everything seems fairly normal...other than the shaft moved. No idea how that happened. Set screws were in place and locked in.

BX Snow Blower PTO shaft came off while snow blowing.

Just went through the installation manual. The shaft from the hitch should measure 7-5/16". It measures 5". I have no idea how that happened. I know I measured it multiple times when assembling to ensure it was correct. I don't know how it moved. The problem now is I can't disengage it. I'm...

BX Snow Blower PTO shaft came off while snow blowing.

Unfortunately I did the assembly work. Got it a few years after I bought the tractor and they sent it unassembled. The shaft is 44.5". But it's run a few times just fine. Going to take the mount apart and see what's going on. Unfortunately I'm having a problem disengaging the connection to the...

BX Snow Blower PTO shaft came off while snow blowing.

Good points. I'll measure the driveshaft when I get home. I'll also put the driveshaft back on and look things over. Hitch - BX2810 Snow blower - BX2816

BX Snow Blower PTO shaft came off while snow blowing.

Ugh. Not what I wanted to hear but, pretty much what it looks like. Thanks. I'll be contacting my dealer.

BX Snow Blower PTO shaft came off while snow blowing.

Front mount PTO. It's only the third time running it. I don't believe there's a locking gizmo on it. It just slides on.

BX Snow Blower PTO shaft came off while snow blowing.

Last night I was snow blowing my yard for access to the wood shed and chicken coop. All the sudden there was a loud, violent banging from underneath. The PTO shaft somehow became disconnected from the snow blower while the PTO was still spinning. Luckily I was able to react fairly quickly. Does...

    Bx2380 loader block issues

My BX23S loader block started leaking after the first year. I contacted my dealer and the replaced the top block and it had been fine since. It is now leaking again. Badly. I felt the top line of the cam lock and it feels like it is wearing where it locks. I'm not sure if there is supposed to...

    BX2680 3-Pt Float

I see this working to an extent. Dropping the 3ph until it stops, then going, leaves the 3ph where it ended its travel when it landed. Holding it down let's it drop through undulations. This will let the 3ph float. This is how I run the tiller. I don't believe there is any hydraulic flow with...

BX2380 4 point front hitch + ride over deck

It's not bad once you get the hang of it. Two things to consider. - keep a block or jack or something under the linkage to keep it from crashing to the floor/ground. It's not super heavy but, being you'll likely be laying on the ground, it will help. - the front pins are held in by rue ring...

BX2380 4 point front hitch + ride over deck

The MMM linkage must come off for the 4 point front hitch to be placed on the tractor. They can't occupy the same space. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

    Heat?

Propane forced air furnace supplemented by a small Lopi woodstove which we had installed August of 2019. We try to keep the woodstove going to use less propane. So far, so good. Filled the propane tank in April and have used less than 5% of our 500 gallon tank. So I guess our propane furnace is...

    Price for a 2016 BX2670 ?

That sure seems like a solid price! I got around $12,600 for my garage kept 2670 with 60" MMM And front snow blade from a dealer 2.5 years ago on trade. The dealer told me I would get more for it if I sold it myself. As Jay stated, inspect it, drive it and look it over. Should be good but be...
