    Is your axle cast iron ? If yes don't weld it with a nickel rod. It will break again, you would be much better of to braze it. Mach sure you pre heat the axle before you braze. The best and more reliable would be a good used or new one.

    If do a search you may be able to find a site to down load the manual you need. A friend down loaded one for his BX for $ 15.00. Some years ago I bought mine from the local dealer for $ 80.00

    The mower deck gears sold on e-bay may not be OEM. The most expensive set is about $ 100.00 cheaper as OEM. If you do buy from him he has no guarantee and he cant or will not help you find the correct set. You need the part number for the gear box gears so he can refer to them. I had my...

    The common problem is the spacer shims on the horizontal power input shaft wear that wears out the gears but maybe not . The gears are not visible until the bearings are out. I will check on the cost of the bearings and spacer washers and seals.
