Looking at small L series. Need advice on size, tier IV emissions, etc.

I can't imagine parts being an issue with the tractor but coming back across the border might be interesting.

Rear blade, how big is too big?

Thanks guys. I guess my only unknown is if I really need the extra weight and cost associated by going with the 2684 or 3784 models. I'm going to drag my driveway a few times a year and use it with snow removal. Haven't found much in way of used so new prices range from 700ish to 1500ish...

Rear blade, how big is too big?

I've got an L3540 and I'm looking at rear blades for it. Im not sure how wide is too wide. Is 72 enough or am I better off with an 84"? I've looked at the land pride 1572', but a 2684 was also mentioned by a dealer. A bit more expensive but heavier, has the ability to angle. And offset I...

    Operating RPM's

Thanks guys. I've been playing with the auto throttle and it's pretty cool. Just like driving a car. I'm coming from an old ford 4500 that doesn't have a functioning tach s I've got no clue where I ran that. If I needed more power I'd give it more throttle. That things a beast, but has issues...

    Operating RPM's

Thanks guys. It's a 40 series so no emissions. I just got it and was playing a little last night moving new cabinets from the garage to the house. It has a tach and I was keeping it around 1500. Had plenty of power for what I was doing. I will keep playing and see what seems best.

    Operating RPM's

I just got an L3540 and I'm curious as to what rpm to operate at. Mostly loader work and driving around? I don't want to over rev if not needed. Thanks.

    L3830 vs l3540

Well I hope you guys are right. I put a deposit on it and it should be delivered this coming week. Tractor looks new, only concern is the loader valve was a bit sticky. Dealer was going to take care of it. Said it was from sitting all winter. Doesn't look like any things been on the 3pt hitch.

    L3830 vs l3540

Thanks. The 3830 was sold Friday and I went Saturday morning. I played with a new 3901 and it was nice but physically I think it's too small especially compared to the 3560 that was next to it. Headed to look at the 3540 tomorrow. Any known issues I should look for?

    L3830 vs l3540

I've found 2 used machines I'm interested in. Ones a 3830 with 350hrs the others a 3540 with 500 hrs. Asking Prices are within 500$ of each other, the same in my book. The 3540 looks brand new, not even the bucket looks scratched. The 3830 is also beautiful, but the buckets been used. Doesn't...

    Realistic prices

Those prices were over the phone, no haggling. I'm headed to dealership this weekend to look at and play with some.

    Realistic prices

That was MB. I talked to Chappel tonight. They were the same price on the 3901, but included forks and a 72" rear blade. I'm headed this weekend to look at them. Trying to weigh new vs used and it's not easy. I'm also looking at a grand 3540 with 500 hrs and a 3830 with 350hrs. Too many decisions.
