L39, Aux Hydraulics and a Hammer

Thanks Ed. I didn't think about max rated flow being at full power, have to remember that. I'll hook it up like you suggested and see how she goes. It may take a while but I will report back here how it goes. Thanks again for your input.

L39, Aux Hydraulics and a Hammer

Ah, sure did. I was thinking of the spool control valve which,I think, is rated at 20 gpm. So, what you are saying is, I am creating unbalanced hydraulics with my current hookup by forcing both pumps through one circuit? I certainly don't want to hurt the tractor.

L39, Aux Hydraulics and a Hammer

Not sure how you know what the rated flow of my valve is but let's bat this around. When I hook up this way I have to run the tractor at about 1500 rpm to get the hammer to work correctly. Any lower RPM makes the hammer fire too slowly. That sounds to me like I am not backing up the hydraulics...

    Any L39 owners? Have question?

Didn't notice the screws and plate before but it is there and when I move switch down it does hit the plate. Sounds like you zeroed in on it. Maybe a little adjustment will fix you up. Send us some rain. Haven't had any rain north of Houston for over a month. Ground is like fine dust.

    Any L39 owners? Have question?

No, just two positions. up=auto level off, down=auto level on

    Using Forks

I swap back and forth between my bucket and forks so much that I installed an electric actuator to raise and lower my quick connect locks. Now I don't even have to get off of the tractor to swap front implements. My wife says I am lazy and I told her it was a needed safety feature.

    Using Forks

I love my forks. I recently had to rebuild a small generator and put it on a pallet and lifted it up about 3 feet preventing me from working on the ground and bending over. Made a great work table. Then, after got it working, I lifted it up into my truck. With the forks, of course.

    Any L39 owners? Have question?

Hari, for what its worth, my autolevel even works with the engine off. I can lower the arms by gravity pull and the bucket will stay level. Let me know what they find wrong.

    Any L39 owners? Have question?

That sounds about right. Especially the 4wd part. I understand, from speaking with my dealer, that all the drivetrain noise is normal and not to worry about it, so I won't. What did you find out about your fel and autolevel control?

    Any L39 owners? Have question?

No, the bucket should stay level going up or coming down. In fact the factory tolerance is 0-3 degrees back tilt. In other words, there should never be any front tilt(dump) going up or down. If its at the shop tell them to fix it right. It definitely is not working correctly. And thanks for your...

    Any L39 owners? Have question?

I am a new owner of a new L39. When I'm in high (12) gear running on the highway the transmission makes some loud and disturbing noises. This is my first hydraulic (GST) drive tractor and don't know if the noise is normal or if I need to take it in for service.

L39, Aux Hydraulics and a Hammer

Ok, going to close this one out. The solution was so simple. I unplugged the backhoe return to tank connection. Plugged in my attachment's 'in' hose to backhoe return to tank and my attachment's 'out or return' to the tractor return to tank fitting. Basically just looped in my attachment...

L39, Aux Hydraulics and a Hammer

New problem: Can hook up my attachmment and run it fine but need the outriggers operational also. I unplug the backhoe hydraulics to run my attachment which disables the outriggers. AAAAAAAAAAAAArg! I am getting into unkown territory here but it looks like I will need to hook up some kind of...

L39, Aux Hydraulics and a Hammer

Well I purchased the L39. Now will attempt to get hydraulic power to my attachment. Apparently there are two power circuits feeding the backhoe. One circuit for bucket, boom and dipperstick and one for left and right swing. Three hydraulic connections feed the backhoe - one power for hoe, one...

L39, Aux Hydraulics and a Hammer

You are the second person that has told me that but, there are two handles under the seat in the back that you pull out for 3 Pt use and push in for backhoe use. Is the "coupling" old technology or still needed? A little confused on this.

L39, Aux Hydraulics and a Hammer

Just curious, what did come with the kit. I'm assuming it was for the backhoe end. What are you powering with it?

L39, Aux Hydraulics and a Hammer

Considering the purchase of an L39 to power and mobilize a soil probe that I built. Probe is a vertically mounted hydraulic cylinder with a Stanley MB 156hydraulic hammer attached. Operational wise, I engage the hydraulics (My setup uses an open center design), get off of the tractor and operate...
