    removing foreign matter from transmission

    While changing transmission oil in my L3400, I accidentally broke a 3" by 5/8" piece of the funnel off and it fell into the transmission. Whats the easiest way to open the transmission to remove the peice? Can the power takeoff shaft be removed easily to gain access to the transmission case?
