    M4050 Oil Pressure Issues?

Good news or bad, thank you for the information. Will likely be a week or 2 before I get it in for troubleshooting. Hopefully not worst case. I kind of dread hunting down parts for this thing.

    M4050 Oil Pressure Issues?

Re: M4500 Oil Pressure Issues? On the M engine? Things got off on a B series for a second, so just verifying. This was an early model M4050, so if that's the case, likely the pin. I typo'd to start with in thread, just verifying for everyone, it is actually an M4050 (But should be same...

    M4050 Oil Pressure Issues?

Re: M4500 Oil Pressure Issues? Not sure if this image will show up or not. #6 lists as a set screw, but #7 is a "plug pin". While possible that the set screw has come loose, if that #7 is the usual culprit for working loose, probably worth looking into first. Seems it might be accessible by...

    M4050 Oil Pressure Issues?

Re: M4500 Oil Pressure Issues? That's why plan A is to get a gauge on it to see what I actually have for pressure. Looking at the diagrams, it does look like there's a set screw in each end of camshaft, so it certainly seems a possibility, whether it's one that I really want to hear or not.

    M4050 Oil Pressure Issues?

Re: M4500 Oil Pressure Issues? Not 100% sure on hours, as meter quit working. Ballpark 2500-3000, based off of when it quit. Just been an issue in last 5-10 hours. Noticed it after mowing one day last month. Haven't run much since that really warmed it up until this last weekend.

    M4050 Oil Pressure Issues?

Google search for these gives limited results, so asking a much more focused group: Are there any "common" issues for low oil pressure on the M4500 series tractors? Google brought up some for the B & L series is my main reason for asking. Backstory: After years of loyal service & good...

    M4050 Engine Heater

I know this is an old thread, but I'm on the same search & am not finding anything. I know there's supposed to be a threaded port somewhere, but I'm not finding it for the life of me. Anyone have any guidance?

WANTED- Tachometer for an M4050 or M4500

Thanks for the help, but I am really looking for an OEM unit. I rarely need to know the actual RPM for my regular usage, but the PTO speed also displayed on it would be really nice to have back.

WANTED- Tachometer for an M4050 or M4500

Unfortunately hunting up one of these new has been unsuccessful, & the guts of mine are shot. Anyone have or know of any that might be floating around? Part # 36200-75640

    M4050 pricing check

Ok, trying again on an old M series. This one an m4050dt with loader. Hours show 4300, but owner admits it hasn't worked for a couple years. Starts right up, runs great. loader is leaking down a bit. Slow, takes probably 90 seconds to drop 3 ft or so, I'm guessing seals in the valve. Some...

    Price check - M4500

Short version of the story: It was owned by my bosses father, who passed away last year. I've borrowed & run it a few times, as we live just a few miles apart. They are talking of selling at auction, but have no idea a value. I'd like to have one myself, as it is the most solid little tractor...

    Price check - M4500

It is 4wd, & has factory loader. (had that in original post, but buried in rambling) I'm not 100% sure on hours, but a small farm tractor, so not a used daily machine. Condition is a rough one for me to judge, as tractors aren't my usual forte. I'd say decent though, some paint fade, but no...

    Price check - M4500

New user here, referred from another forum. I'm looking at an old M4500, decent looking older tractor, owned by someone I've known for some time, & I do not question the maintenance one bit. has a loader & is 4wd. My issue is that it seems to be a bit of an oddball. I can't find anything for...
