What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Pulled the motor out of my BX2360, replaced the water pump, head gasket, and thermostat, flushed the radiator inside and out, trying to eliminate an overheating issue. Changed the oil and adjusted the valves while I was at it. Got it all put back together, did a little mowing, and it still...

RCK60B-23BX MMM with Gator G6 blades

Hello all, I ordered a set of Oregon Gator G6 blades to replace the very well-worn 8 year old stock blades. So far, I am very pleased with the quality of the cut. I did notice that the Gator blades appear to extend down toward the lawn about 1/4" more than the stock blades, so if anyone else...

    Kubota BX2660 tail lights

Also check the wiring harness right behind the tail lights. There are some bullet connectors under there that tend to get dirty or corroded. Mine quit every so often, I give them a twist, and they start working again.

12v outlet (cigarette lighter) not working...

Do you mean a 3 position switch? Like an on, off, and momentary, or are you looking to switch 3 different loads at the same time?

    Removing and installing rear tires

Know anyone with a pallet jack? Fashion a brace out of wood to keep the tire more or less upright. Other than that, they make special "forks" on small caster wheels with a hydraulic jack that raises an inner set of forks to lift the tire. May be able to rent one or borrow one from a heavy...

m105x won't start or turn over (no glow plug indicator lighted)

There isn't anything that would prevent the starter from turning the motor even if the glow plug circuit isn't working. Sounds like an electrical issue, but could just be a bad indicator. Use a voltmeter to measure the voltage at the glow plugs when you turn the switch to the glow position...

    Potential Electrical Problem (L185DT)

You might have your battery load tested as well. As batteries age, their internal impedance tends to increase (and no, you can't measure it with a VOM- it takes very specialized equipment capable of measuring Milli-ohms, using an AC waveform for testing, and a baseline when the battery was new)...

What do I need to fix my dirt?

I helped a neighbor rehab his horse training corral. It already had some sand in it, but it had been pounded down into the dirt underneath. Used the rototiller to fluff everything up, then had a load of sand put on it, spread it around, and after much use, fluffed it up again. I would think a...

How I repair linkadge on BX2360 mmm

Sounds like he's talking about the quarter-inching valve and the linkages that control the height of the mmm. Mine has been problematic as well, and now won't go into the "top" position. Something I need to look into as soon as mud season is over.

    Frozen remotes - MX5100

Go to a motorcycle shop or look on Amazon for a cable oiler. It's a small device that has a rubber center with 3 holes in it. The rubber is surrounded by an aluminum V shaped jacket, with a thumb screw. Loosen the thumb screw, put the larger larger hole over the cable jacket, with the end of...

    Front Tire Chains BX2230?

I've found that front chains help quite a bit on my BX2360, especially when using the front dozer blade. Helps keep things pointed in the right direction, and definitely has helped pull me back out of the ditch a couple of times. Since the front wheel drive is hydraulically driven, there is...

    push shipping container

If it's on a hard surface, you could rent some heavy equipment moving skates (think like the rollers that let you push a car sideways in your garage, only with heavy duty rollers), and lift each corner with a high-lift or hydraulic floor jack to put them under the skids, then use the tractor to...

    actually got stuck today. :-0

Wow, if the wife said go get a bigger tractor, there would be nothing but a vapor trail out the door. Barring that, try adding a little weight to the front, since the weight of the hog is probably unloading your front tires some. I run Turfs on my BX, and I filled the tires with windshield...

    Quotations To Live By.....

Never fry bacon in the nude. Never squat with your spurs on. Never trust a user with your television overnight-Chrissie Hynde. An alcoholic will steal your wallet, and use the cash to buy more alcohol, and become consumed with guilt over the whole deal. A junkie will steal your wallet, then...

    Daily Chuckle

A young man and woman sneak into a cemetery to perform an act of passion. A couple days later, the woman goes to the doctor complaining of a back ache. The doctor examines her, then asks "How old are you?" She says "25, why do you ask?" The doctor replies "It says here on your ass you died...

    Welding Chuckles AKA- Hot pajamas

I was cutting some fenders off an old trailer from underneath with a hot wrench. One of the fender washers fell off when I cut the bolt, and landed on the gravel driveway. I had to pull one of my gloves off for some reason, and I propped myself up on the gravel, and put the tip of my little...

    locate buried disconnected electrical wire

I think you are going to continue to have problems with wire that small that's direct-buried anywhere near where you have equipment driving over it. If it freezes where you live, the frost heave can damage the wire. I would find some utiliduct (that continuous ABS tube that comes in big rolls...

    Portable jump starter advice

I agree with the posts above. If the battery in your tractor is weak, replace it. If you still feel the need for a Jump starter, buy a good battery, preferably one you can add water to, put it in a battery box, and strap it to a two wheel dolly. Charge it with a good 3-step automatic battery...

I would be tempted to box as much of those arms as I could, using opposing stitch welds, just to make them stronger.

Trailer for BX to tow and be towed?

I would concentrate on a trailer that would be most useful on your property. I only have 7 acres, and have found that a compact pickup bed trailer is perfect for my BX2360 (think older Ford Courier, Toyota short bed, or Chevy Luv). Mine cost around $200 and was in good shape. I put a tool box...
