I have the same tractor and the same problem. I found that you must take the 3pt hitch all the way to the furthest upward travel. Then in that position you dial the high adjustment to the top travel. Then you can use the hitch in any position with the lever.

The red/black is 20 amps hot all the time fused at the fuse block. The red/blue is off the DC outlet and is fused at 10 amps and switched off the key. The black is ground. You can use a relay to control the 20 Amp with the 10 amp key switch, that how Kubtoa uses it with there work light...
