Hi All, My G-2160 mower is losing power again after a few minutes of mowing. The RPMs drop way down, and if I disengage the PTO they'll pick back up and the engine runs smooth. I thought the dealer got this licked last year when they changed out the fuel pump, filters, and flushed the fuel...

Yep, that's exactly what I did - measured the rad and hosing with an IR Therm and the reading seemed fine. What I can't figure out is how on earth does that sensor get damaged like that - in my case, probably 1/4" of the tip was just gone! I wouldn't think coolent flow could do that...:confused:

Thanks for the responses. I have done push/pull on the shaft and it's not budging. I don't think it is rusted or siezed though as I can see about 1/16" back and forth play in it. The root of the problem seems to be that the coupler just won't disengage... I was hoping someone would say I'm...

Hi all, It looks straight forward... but for the life of me I can't get the PTO coupler to disengage. There is an outside housing that is spring loaded, pulling that back seems like it should do the trick, but the housing won't budge from the PTO. I don't think the telescoping shaft is siezed...

I had EXACTLY this same problem.... it turned out to be a bad fuel pump. It seems odd that it would run fine for a while and then loss power... but replacing the fuel pump solved the probelm.

Just a followup for other's future reference. Yes, the Temp Sensor is located on the right-hand side of the Thermostat housing just below the level of the thermostat. I ordered a new sensor for ~$40. When I screwed out the old one, I noticed that the head of it was short and squared off...

Thank you for your response "Wolfman". This is a big help - as I previously mentioned, the radiator coolent only registers 158 degs when the sender indicates an over-heat situation. Now that I understand where the sender is actually measuring temps at, I can see that it could be measuring...
