    Kubota QA vs. SSQA

Ok, I'm officially confused. I bought my L4600 a year ago. As a first time tractor owner I assumed the quick release on my FEL was the Kubota proprietary style. After looking at the pictures above mine doesn't look like that. I have the one where you pull up to the implement, hook the FEL under...

    EA Wicked Root Grapple

New grapple at work. I pulled these trees out of a creek bed.

    Stuck Filter Solution

I've been going through this for the last week on my L4600. I bent two oil filter wrenches trying to remove the hydro filter on the left side. My Kubota dealer sold me a super heavy duty pliers type filter wrench. No luck. All it did was scratch the paint on the filter. I finally got it off...

    EA Wicked Root Grapple

There's not much difference. The Kubota specs page I found lists the 72" light bucket at 323 lbs shipping weight. I don't have the precise number in front of me but the FedEx freight document showed a total shipping weight for the grapple at just a little over 400 lbs. That makes the difference...

    EA Wicked Root Grapple

I spent a bunch of time researching grapples and this is what I finally bought for my L4600. I have some downed trees and brush I need to clean up but none of it is real big. Nothing over 15-18" in diameter and it's all dead and dry. I didn't want or need anything too big but I wanted something...

    EA Wicked Root Grapple

Anybody have one? What about their 3rd function kit? Painless to install? I'm leaning towards getting either a 60" or a 66" inch grapple for my L4600. I think I'd prefer the narrower 60" for maneuverability but I like the wider grapple lid spacing on the 66" (8.5" vs 18"). I have a lot brush and...

L4600 bushhog and finish mower sizes?

I have a 4600 and I use a 6' Landpride bushhog. I use mine for cutting pastures and light to medium brush. My property is hilly and occasionaly the tractor will struggle to keep the PTO RPM in the sweet spot. It will do the job but I definitely have to slow down in thick grass going uphill. It...

Rotary cutter: chains or no chains?

I have the 72" version of the mower you are buying (RCF2072) and it did not come with the front chains. I used it for a few months as is but stuff would occasionally be thrown out the front, usually small rocks. I bought the chain kit (not cheap, $190 OTD) and bolted it on yesterday. I mowed for...

    L3800 brush mowing advise

I have to agree with the consensus here and say I much prefer to mow without the FEL. I've only had my L4600 for a few months and at first I did everything with the FEL attached. Finally, I decided to remove it mainly to see how hard/easy it was to remove. I should have read the directions...

    L3800/ L4600 question

Congrats! Great choice. I bought the exact same tractor and absolutely love it.

    New BX2670

My dealer told me to just run it WFO all the time. It's designed to do that. I ran mine for 6+ hours the other day WFO using the MMM. It barely got above 1/3 on the temp gauge and only used just under a tank of fuel.

    No-spill fueling ideas needed

Why not just pump the fuel into a 5 gal gas can and use that to fill the tractor.

    L3800/ L4600 question

8 hp doesn't sound like a big difference but in reality it's more than a 20% increase in horsepower. Also, the L4600 has taller and wider tires which will help to put that extra hp to the ground in wet conditions. I also was considering either the L3800 or the L4600. I own 40 hilly acres and I...

    GR2120 in my future?

I strongly recommend you at least take a look at a BX1870. With a 54 inch MMM they're selling for just a few hundred dollars more than a GR2120. Especially since you mentioned snow blowing and pulling/pushing a blade. Just my two cents. YMMV. Good luck with your decision.

Absolutely agree. Just because one or the other works for someone else doesn't mean it will work for you.

    Gear Drive Transmission VS HST

http://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10272 Take a look at this recent thread. I was firmly convinced I wanted a geared tractor.....until I test drove an HST. I have no doubt that a geared tractor has it's place but for the reasons stated above by MtViewRanch I now believe...

    Looking for a new Kubota

True, but be careful. There are expensive unintended consequences. I just bought my first tractor (L4600HST) two weeks ago. I was in doubt so I went bigger and I'm glad I did. The L4600 is plenty of tractor for my needs but not excessively big. Here's the expensive part: I just bought my second...
