I have a '82 5950, that needs to be split because of a bad seal. It's something I can't right now, and it could even be a couple of years if I decide to keep it. I was wondering what is needed to be done to keep other seals etc, from drying out? Thanks.

I have an old M5950 and was wondering about how much oil it will need with a filter and oil change? And what grade of oil is recommended for it? Thanks. Jim

Hi, New to the forum here, and I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to diesel engines, or tractors. Last year the tractor quit running while a relative was brush hogging, he had a diesel mechanic check it out, apparently the fuel injector pump needed rebuilding, (it's close to 30 years old)...
