    Question for the colective

We just made a box beam from 2x lumber, supported it w/ chain and straps and used it to hoist trusses onto our new shop.

    B7200 easier steering

I remember doing the calcs for hydraulic steering in a Ag engineering hydraulics course I took 40+ years ago.... but I'd forgotten some of the details :). I found this on scribd; it rings a bell. The assumptions are for a car, but you can change them as needed...

    Reducing engine noise on 2350DT?

I use a pair of 3M 30 dB ear protectors... these work well, and are less than $25 at Home Depot w/ free delivery.

    Front loader for a B7200

I converted a B219 Kubota loader that was in pieces to fit my B5100. Basically I had to make a new subframe, and devise a drive for the hydraulic pump. The arms, bucket and towers are from the original loader.

    Front loader for a B7200

I used 3/8" line (about 4' long) from the pump to the spool valve; 1/4" lines everywhere else on my B5100 w/ a converted B219 loader from a B7100. Like yours, I used a 4 gpm pump, driven from the front PTO. I am sure I could have used 1/4" line from the pump to the spool valve; I very rarely...

    L175 engine front shaft

The shrink disk will compress a sleeve that is solid; it doesn't need to be be split. The shrink disk has a very shallow internal taper that develops a very substantial compression force; of course, this means that the tolerances are pretty tight on the internal and external sleeve dimensions...

    L175 engine front shaft

If this setup is similar to the one used on the B5100 tractor, I was able to make a sleeve that just slides over the male splines in the front of the crankshaft, and then transition to a 5/8" drive for a hydraulic pump. A shrink disc anchors the sleeve over the splne; it's been in service for...

    Canopy/sun shade options or designs?

A roof panel made from polycarbonate roofing over a steel frame would work and be relatively reasonable in cost....

B7200 FEL to mini skidsteer quick attach modification

The problem w/ these buckets for me is that they use a good part of the lifting capacity of the tractor.

thanks!.... I used a 4"x6" generic metal cutting band saw.

    Exhaust modification

The loader on our B5100 is actually one (B219) for a B7200; I built a new subframe to fit the B5100. Tying the towers together would definitely make things a bit sturdier; I re-used the towers from the B219 which were not tied together. I definitely need more clearance at full wheel...

    B7200 exhaust up or forward

I got really tired of breathing diesel exhaust while mowing w/ our B5100; i rotated the exhaust vertical and added a flapper valve. Big improvement.

    power steering for B6100

The sleeve has no taper; the shrink disk consists of two parts w/ a shallow matching taper. As the bolts that connect them are tightened, the inner diameter of the disk contracts, clamping down on whatever the disk is placed over. Since the taper is shallow, the amount of shrinkage is small -...

    power steering for B6100

Here's a link to our album of B5100 pictures, taken over the last 10 years. https://photos.app.goo.gl/hk1nJCWyZ7EzguYdA There are pictures of the pump drive, including the shrink disc I used to grab hold of the oddball spline on the front of the crankshaft.

Is there interest in a DIY Loader Kit for B6100/B7100?

You can think of the loader as trying to tip the tractor forward so that it's balancing on the front wheels. W/o a subframe, the only connection between the front wheels and engine and the rear wheels is the transmission, so the top bolts would be in tension and the bottom ones in compression...

    power steering for B6100

Yup... the B219 will lift about 500 lbs; w/ the 2" cylinders @800 psi there's plenty of lift force. When I put the B219 on our B5100, I added a pump on the front of the tractor, and added a gauge next to the loader valve so I could figure out what was happening.

Is there interest in a DIY Loader Kit for B6100/B7100?

I built a subframe to fit a B219 loaderonto our B5100. It's a matter of figuring out where everything neededs to be:

    power steering for B6100

The factory loader on a B6100 has its relief valve set right about 800 psi ( I've adapted one onto a B5100). This may well be more than the PS valve can handle.

    Canopy/sun shade options or designs?

When I made a canopy for our 19' steam launch, I bent 1/2" EMT into 3D curves; that's really not needed here. I followed the design of commercial awnings, using a lacing rail set back from the edge underneath and grommets in the cloth edge; the fabric is laced on w/ 3/16 paracord between the...
