I’m not the OP and pass by a Kubota dealer daily, so I try and support them. So who makes the Kubota filter? I find it hard to believe there isn’t a reliable filter that doesn’t have Kubota stamped on the side.

Mine does the same. At times while mowing with my finish mower I will hop off to grab debris or whatnot and I found that it if I flip the seat up all the way it doesn’t kill the engine. I’m not recommending this but it works for me.

Just redid mine with the grader/ scraper a couple days ago, just before it gets nasty around here. So my answer would be yes, fix what you can while you can.
