Re: Got the new BX2380 home and have a question?

While you can lock the deck up, and still have full movement of the 3PH arms, there's no equally easy way to do the reverse.

The method is to move the lift links' top connectors from the lift arms...

Re: Wheel Hop as your driving down the street

I've got a BX with filled turf tires, so not the same setup at all, but I always feel some wheel hop when going from parked in my garage to driving down the asphalt. After a couple hundred yards, it...

Re: Driving my 2650 up and down slopes

Yikes! Most slopes in pictures look tame, much less tricky than they appear from the seat of a tractor.

This one looks terrifying!

Re: BX mower blade recommendation?

I don't have the same deck on my BX, but I'm extremely happy with how well my 48" deck with oem blades, and no mulching baffles, handles clippings. They're dispersed very evenly--no windrows. Maybe...

Re: Drive shaft rubber flange

This happened on my BX a couple of months ago, only I didn't hear it and the flailing rubber eventually wore it's way through the plastic wire loom and the wires beneath, taking out power to the fuel...

Re: HST screen without draining fluid?

Easy to do with minimal oil loss if you've got a #5 tapered rubber plug standing by. I did it this spring on my BX based on info I got here on OTT, and don't think I lost more than 4 - 5 oz. of oil....

Re: B2601 vs B2650

Thanks makes sense that you could use it suspended--I hadn't considered that. Without the physical stops, my BX deck would drift down, but I imagine that might not be a problem on the bigger...

Re: B2601 vs B2650

I too am a BX owner, and sometimes daydream about upgrading to either of these two B models.

One factor that I'm not sure about is the desirability of the ground following mid mount deck of the...

Re: Box Blade Land Shark for BX23s

Given the relatively light weight of BX's, it's pretty easy to overcome the traction limits even with a 48" blade. So while a 54" blade will give you wider passes, it's probably not going to be more...

Re: BX2350 HST Fan replacement help

Nice write up! And nice clean up, too. So sorry you have to do it twice--I'd have bashed my head against the wall when I realized I left the clamp there. (I've done similar on other projects.)

Re: Converting string trimmer to saw blade

OP says his is a straight shaft, not bent, but many of the cheaper straight shafts still use a cable drive, rather than a solid drive shaft.

My entry level Stihl FS - 55 has a straight cable, and...

Re: Bx2380 mid mount mower/3pt hitch

Yeah, just the way it works, and generally not an issue, but a problem when mowing and towing a cyclone rake.

When I got my CR last year, I was glad to see the two attachment points matched up...

Re: Blade balancer for MMM blades?

Thanks, D2Cat--I agree!. I've got both a plastic and metal version of this style. But it bugs me that neither have a step that's the right diameter for my Kubota blades. They still work when I...

Re: Blade balancer for MMM blades?

Thanks for the input. As to whether it's necessary: I do hit the occasional rock when mowing, and when my blades get out of balance, I can feel more vibration coming through the mower deck. I'm...

Blade balancer for MMM blades?

I've got the RCK48-18BX deck on my BX. I've purchased two different blade balancers, the cone type with steps, but none of the steps match up with the center holes on my blades.

Anyone have an...

Re: Off-road diesel?

Since 2014, all U.S. diesel is required to be ultra low sulfur, regardless of whether it's on-road or off-road. It should be the same as what you get a regular pump, but with the addition of red...

Re: 3 point adjustment

What kind of sway control do you have on the lower 3PH arms? If you've got turnbuckles, they are a pain to deal with, and I highly recommend changing them out for rigid telescoping bars. Hodge, in...

Re: Mower deck won't stay up.

Sorry, I don't know the internals well enough to tell you how to address the root cause. (Addling little blue pills to your HST reservoir is all that comes to mind.) But you should be able to...

If you've got the inclination to document the swap with photos and share it here, many of us would love to see it. I hope it goes smoothly.

Re: QUESTION about running on the road

My Kubota is much smaller than yours, but I live in southern Indiana with similar terrain, and spend a lot of time on a hilly road between me and neighbors. I agree with the above that this is...

Re: Mower deck won't stay up.

That's faster than I would expect--do you have any weight on the rear three point hitch? As you probably know, the deck lift and rear lift are interconnected, so weight on one will help bring down...

Re: BX drive shaft boot--non-propeller end

Well there's still plenty of time for me to screw something up upon reassembly! But yeah: very glad I didn't have the dealer come pick it up. Some of the HST fan replacement techniques involve...

BX fuel pump wiring

As detailed in another thread, the engine-side drive shaft boot on my BX1870 self destructed, and in flailing about it severed the wires to the fuel pump. I'm going to splice/solder new wire in, but...

Re: BX drive shaft boot--non-propeller end

Answering my own question here, but for future reference for anyone dealing with the same issue: This morning I was able to remove the drive shaft and all the coupling pieces on the engine side. I...
