If I do move it with the brake on, I do notice it pretty quick.

I also have an air ride seat so I can’t tilt it up to run the chipper.

The seat switch is a normally open switch, so I put a normally closed relay in series with it.

I added a microswitch to the parking brake to run the relay.

I also added a normally open switch parallel to the seat switch so I can run the PTO without sitting in the seat.

The relay is way bigger than I needed but I had it in stock.

So…. when the seat is empty…. the parking brake cannot be applied..? (joking)

Can you more-fully explain the operating logic of your mod?

If you are not in the seat the switch is open. The tractor shuts off if you try to move it or turn on the PTO.

When I engage the parking brake my NC relay opens to make the computer think I am not in the seat.

I guess that would mean that you don't let it idle when you get out of the seat, or you don't use your parking brake much?

I leave mine running the entire time I'm out watering, if I'm on flat ground I don't bother setting the parking brake but if I don't want it to run, I just turn off the key ... Seat switch has been "fixed" by me.

It sounds like you are very happy with your modification, and that's what really counts ... Wouldn't work at my place.

The only time it shuts off is when you try to move it with the parking brake on.

I don't use the parking brake very often.

So when you have the parking brake applied, it acts like the "seat switch" and powers down your machine if you try to take off?

Thats a pretty good idea. (y) (y) (y)
