L1500 rear axle oil leak

My rear axle is weeping oil from the seal, I looked up Messinks parts online and the US equivalent L175 shows two different seals depending on production number. The seal pics look quite different in thickness so has any one changed out a L1500 axle seal and can help with confirming the correct one. I have my right hand in a cast for tendon repairs and wish to order the correct seal and pull axle apart when hand is healed. Any help is appreciated.

You probably just need to order both part numbers and use the correct seal.

I assume that the L1500 is not supported by Kubota in Australia due to the grey market imports. Is that your problem about the serial number?

I had a problem with the hydraulic pump seal on my L185. I ordered the correct part to match the serial number but it didn’t fit. I assume the pump was changed at some time in the tractor’s previous life. So I had you just order the other two seal part numbers and use the one that did match the pump.

Thanks Russell, it's a bit of a raffle here in Oz for parts, I usually check for updated part no's online and give it to the spare parts Dept and hope for the best. Sometimes you can be lucky as a part may fit a non grey model, but kubota's parts system is based firstly on tractor models
