I just got my Speech cat 1 quick hitch for my BX -2680. I just discovered that my implements are NOT quick hitch compatible. The lower hooks mount okay. It's the upper hook that is a problem.
I have a Dirt Dog 48" Box grader and a harrow. I'm looking for advice.
I'll post pictures when I get to my desk top computer.

Older implements (as well as some newly made ones) may not meet these almost agreed upon dimensions,

Yeah, I'm learning that. The Box grader is close. The lower pins have a small tapered sholder that is causing the lower "hooks" not to close. I think I can grind about a 1/4 in taper to match it.
The Harrow is going to take a bit more creativity on the upper rod to top link.
I think I will need to shop around for some adapters.

That's the sort of issue that has always made me question the usefulness of "quick" hitches. I can hook up any of my traditional implements about as quick.

The only real exception to that was a post hole digger. That thing was always a cast iron b!tch to hook up. Don't think a quick hitch would've helped.

I agree with you there, I can hitch up the traditional way pretty easily without the extra weight or view reduction of a QH. But a brush mower always kicked me, especially if its not sitting quite level.

Maybe because I bought all new "QH compatible" attachments, except for the old rear blade I found out in the weeds when I bought this place ... But once adjusted and if there is no PTO shaft involved, I don't need to even leave my seat to hook or unhook ... If a PTO shaft is involved I just have to get off the attach that.

I like my QH, and bought a second one for my second tractor.

Two additional points:

1. I take some pains to park my stuff on level ground. It is indeed more difficult if things are askew.

2. This is modified somewhat by my top-and-tilt system. I can get "close enough" and adjust the lower arms and top link as needed quickly and easily. Some of the best money I ever spent.

I have to adjust my top hook on most of my 3 pt attachments. As long as your attachments can lock in the bottom hooks, the top can be adjusted.
