Good day.I’ve done a bit more research and I’ve talked with the local dealer. Looking at about $26K out the door for a B2601, FEL, 54” QA bucket, 3rd function, R-4 tires w/ fluid, Land Pride GS15 60” Grading Scraper – GS1560, Grapple 54” (special price on something laying around the back – LOL). I am mulling it over.
I haven’t even bought the tractor and last night at 2 AM I purchased
Good works tractor – Fast cat I QH for $360 black (orange back ordered)
Hitch hanger and 6 weights for $1100 (about $125 each) Total $1575.20
Amazon – Magnetic side mirrors $30
Kubota steering wheel spinner $23
Eagle 5 Gallon Type I Yellow Safety Gas Can $70 Total $130
MapleleafFarmer – I think you and the others and the sales guy convinced me to get one.
EPIC – I will call the next closest dealer and see what they have to say. It can’t hurt.
Russell King – I don’t use firewood but I will most likely need to cut down trees and mulch them. I am not sure I need rear remotes. More to ponder.
Bearcatrp – I am trying to stay small and safe and not exceed my limits I think the B series is best for my needs.
GrumpyFarmer – I am considering forks. Not sure. Maybe bolt on to save money? I am thinking of brush guard since the others talked me into a grapple. Any suggestions there?
JasonW – I would love to buy used but I am finding most have belly mowers or bush hogs – neither of which I need. The ones that might work are hundreds of miles away. I’ve check facebook Marketplace and other used tractor site including this one. Nothing close.
PaulL – Good info on rear inputs and log splitter. I don’t think I need one of those. Because of you guys I think I need a little weight on the rear for loader work and I wanted the speed hitch but didn’t want to block it so I got the above items which means I better buy a tractor soon. Yup ya’ll talked me into a grapple and if I hang around long enough ya’ll will talk me into forks too.
Runs With Scissors – You’re making a strong argument for forks.
Bearcatrp – thanks for the fork reference, I will look into them.
Skeets – All very good points. Thanks for your insight.
Trikepilot – Thanks for your thoughts too.
GeoHorn – I will try. I am not a good negotiator. I should let my wife go and after 4 hours with her they will pay her to take the tractor.
Blue2Orange – not too much snow in central NC, thanks for re-iterating the need for rear ballast. Being so new to the tractor world it is helpful to remind me what I don’t know. They currently have $3000 off if you don’t finance.
I have a whole list of MAYBEs – any more thoughts from the forum?

regarding forks, I don’t have any experience with bolt one. I am very satisfied with SSQA type.
as far as brush guard I like the Lown that is on my MX. if they made one to fit my B I have one in it from Lown as well. Since they did not I ordered from Messicks and I like it as well.
maybe also think about how you plan to ballast the machine when using loader.
