someone stole a boom cylinder i had resealed and to replace it is 1800 at the local kubota dealer. I found a complete la1055 loader without brackets for 1800.00. the la1055 uses the same cylinders as the la854.
I was thinking if it fits, I could use the 854 for parts.

You can probably buy two new aftermarket cylinders for $500

There is nothing special about those cylinders. You can probably find a generi. That will fit and work.

I assumed 1" pins and a 2" cylinder bore. Whats the OEM bore?

So 2" is only 85% lift. If you jumped to 2.5* you would get 50% more.

In math free words a 2" cylinder will have slightly less lifting power than the OEM cylinders. A 2.5" cylinder will have a lot more lifting powet than OEM.

so, I buy 2 -2" cylinders and replace both the boom cylinders and life should be good.
Not real worried about lift capability just use it for compost and such.
