I have a BX24 with a 54" MMM, FEL, and BH. I've been cutting my lawn with this for the past 15 years with no issues. I also have been using this for my personal firewood work. So every April I put away the loader and BH and cut grass until November. Last few years I've been putting the loader and BH back on and off, for firewood, way too many times to count during grass cutting season. That's getting to be a PIA. I eventually bought a spare garden tractor to cut the grass only so I can do firewood all year. It's an older Craftsman GT5000 in ok condition but I hate it. I'm 60 and busted up everywhere from 26 years of firefighting. I miss the power steering and 4 wheel drive (hills) and have to gas it up every week. I want to buy a GR2100 just for the grass. I know it's a big expense just to cut grass but I'm guessing it will hold its value for years if I want to sell it. Any GR owners out there? Is it worth it ?

If you're just cutting grass have you considered a Z-turn?

Just bought the GR2120 (diesel) prior to the start of this years cutting season, so I haven't had it long enough to give a good reliability review. My research indicated most of the GR's past mechanical issues have been addressed and corrected by Kubota years ago. I sure hope that is correct!
The main reason I bought the GR was due to my hills. My old JD X300 used to slide on my hills and dangerously so when the grass was wet. Haven't had it that long, but so far I love the AWD GR on the hills. No slips or slides at all, going uphill or down. The power steering is great and with the glide steer, I get no turf damage.
As far as the cut quality, I think it is good and about the same as my old JD with the Accel Deep deck. I have the Kubota mulch kit installed on the deck. I actually liked the old JD mulch kit a little better, because you could easily open and close off the discharge. I would recommend that you get the diesel engine if possible, due to the good fuel economy. It uses much less fuel than my old JD. Also, the off road diesel is about the same price as the non ethanol premium anyway.
