Hello all,

I am looking for some ideas on the hydraulic noise my tractors imploment\power steering\function pump is making. NOT the incredibly loud hst pump. The tractor has done it since new but progressively gotten worse. It does it most when completely warmed up after doing work with it. It seems to only do it at idle. 90 hrs currently on the clock. it sounds like cavitation to me. Thanks for any input.

oil level is normal
no jerky hydraulics
No leaks

Is it making that noise when you operate the hydraulic controls? Do you have a backhoe on the tractor?

I suspect your pump is deadheading and that noise is the relief valve unloading the pump.

Was the backhoe mounted when you shot that video? Is the position control lever in the full down position?
in the video the backhoe was on and the grapple was on. I had the grapple way up in the air in that video. Regardless, the noise happens when the control lever is in any position, grapple or bucket full lock fall down. It is not the same noise as when the pressure relief is passing fluid.

What control were you operating to get it to make that noise?

I was not operating anything in that video. As long as the tractor is warmed up and at idle regardless of what control I operate it will make that noise.
OK - let me rephrase thst

As long as the tractor is warmed up it makes that noise on its own. You are doing absolutely nothing. Is that correct?

@TheOldHokie was asking you if the rear three point control lever was in the full down position. I believe that when the backhoe is installed the three point lower arms are removed but the upper arms can go to their full up limit and open a pressure relief valve.

In short he is asking you to be sure any control lever on the hydraulic system is in the neutral position so please confirm that is true on your tractor. (Neutral for the FEL means no cylinder is moving and none are at their extreme limit.)

In that condition, does the tractor make the noise under any circumstance?

I am more concerned with the position control lever.

THE POSITION CONTROL LEVER SHOULD BE LOCKED DOWN!!!!

That is why I posted that above. There was never a direct answer to that and I was not sure the OP understood the request was directed at the rear three point control lever.

if I am understanding you correctly, the lever that controls the three-point hitch is in the full raised position in that video.
Problem fohnd.

Cause: Operator error
Fix: Adjust 3pt feedback and NEVER raise the 3pt lever when the backhoe is attached

The feedback linkage is out of asjustment and repeatedly trying to raise the lift past its limit. That deadheads the pump and causes the relief to unload making that noise.

how is this any different with a 3 point implement on and in the full raised position? Thanks
