I am brand new to this so please excuse my ignorance. I have recently acquired a Zen Noh ZL2202. Honestly I had never heard of Zen Noh before and I have enjoyed researching this gray market machine. To say that it is a little different than my Kubota L4060 is an understatement. So I am hoping that you experienced Zen Nohers can help me out. First, a bit of detail. It runs great but I don't believe the previous owner EVER did any maintenance. I have done the simple stuff, new battery, washed the seeds out of the radiator and changed the oil. I want next to drain and replace the hydraulic fluid. I can't find a dipstick or sight glass to check the current fluid levels. Any instruction on that process will be greatly appreciated. Also how to find the appropriate filters/strainer needed. I have lots of questions but I'll start with these and (1)What Kubota model is compatible with the ZL2202 and (2) where can I get a basic manual for it?
Thanks in advance

Hi there,I have a ZL2202DT as well, the closest non grey I believe is the L2002,sight glass is on the left hand side of the transmission(sitting in the seat) about ankle level,I'm not a mechanic, the only major thing I did was change out the clutch, after some research the tractor is a Kubota engine attached to Kioti trans and differential.

North Idaho Wolfman has the manuals in Japanese i sent him for his library a few weeks back if your interested,
Good luck,enjoy the new ride.

thanks for the reply, thunder fish. My next task is to change the hydraulic oil. I can't seem to find the location of the screen or a filter. Do you have any advice on that? Thanks.

I am not @Thunder Fish but can make a suggestion where to look but it might not be a fruitful search!

Find the hydraulic pump on the tractor engine.
It should have two pipes attached to it, a larger diameter suction line and a smaller diameter pressure line. The suction line should run to a low point connection on the transmission case. (The pressure line is probably going up and to some type of hydraulic block/connection on the top of the transmission.).

When you find the suction line connection to the transmission case the screen is probably in line with it. BUT look on the opposite side of the transmission case and see if there is a cover or something in the same location. The screen may be behind that cover so you remove it there, or it could be attached to the banjo bolt holding the suction line to the transmission case.

There could be a separate filter (spin on or canister style) in the suction line and then probably no screen (occasionally there are both on the same tractor).

That is how most hydraulic systems I have seen are set up, especially on older tractors.
