We have 2 feet of snow on the ground here.
I have been plowing with my truck so far all winter. But today I headed out with the tractor.

I needed to make more room in a couple places that I stack snow with the truck plow like this square turn. It was all hard packed.

Then I broke 0.2 miles of trail pulling my saw so I could cut a dead tree that fell across during a storm last weekend.

I figured posting the same old pics would get old but honestly we have been getting several inches of snow every week and I have been out on the tractor clearing the drive what seems like every 3 days or so.

I'm reaching the point of the season where I am looking for the finish line of winter.........

This is the top of the drive looking up our road, with 4' high side piles....

When I was working and people would start looking for the end of winter in the middle of February I would just smile to my self. We would snow shoe, ski, and ice fish into April. So there is a lot of winter left and some of the best weather.

Snowshoeing later today....... honestly, here's the thing, I don't mind winter. My wife has 2 horses that are boarded off property where she goes and trains 6 days per week. I hear about frozen buckets, ice, blankets, and -10F mornings more than I care to so at some point I need some relief lol

And, I miss golf and my fun car which has been put away for winter.

Other than that we love some XC skiing, snowshoeing for me, fat biking and some rabbit hunting but.......

It's not an orange tractor but you may still enjoy it.

Last Friday night we got 5-1/2" of snow. It was loose and fluffy. The snow banks were getting pretty high and the sides were steepish, making it hard to get loose snow up and over. So I just piled the new snow up against the banks forming a nice ramp along them. If you do that after a few days the ramp will set up some and act to guide snow up and over the banks the next time you plow. Yesterday morning we woke to 3 more inches of snow so I decided to plow and get the accumulated snow out of the road and over the banks. I try to keep the road widened out enough to run the 9' plow down through it as long as I can. When it closes up to much or the road gets soft I use the tractor.

I made this 1 minute video and I think you will see why I prefer using my truck rather than the tractor on this road.
