Without telling me the model the dealer said 3500 seems high to meDefine “pretty expensive”.
I have a Homestead Box Blade and like it.
I thought it was “priced competitively”
So judging from my BB construction, they seem to make pretty good stuff and they have a “military discount” (if thats applicable.)![]()
Front but I have considered rearFront or rear?
Front - 8' blade from a pickup and using the third function line for swing. Search for "underslung snow plow".
Rear - almost any three-point blade. I recently bought a used rear blade I'm refurbing.
Not sure how you calculated it, but at 30° swing (common for a plow) a 96" blade still covers 78" unless I calculated wrong. To have 1/3 the coverage the blade would have be angled to around 80°.i wouldnt do a blade. problem with them is once you angle it you can only use about a third of the width.
snow pusher works much better. be sure to get a back drag with it if you go that way
Mine is 96" wide and angles 30° either direction. 96 in. x (cos 30°) = 83 in. which is still almost 7ft.Not sure how you calculated it, but at 30° swing (common for a plow) a 96" blade still covers 78" unless I calculated wrong. To have 1/3 the coverage the blade would have be angled to around 80°.
