Caribbean Cruise for Christmas

Well, recently returned from a Christmas Cruise in the Caribbean! So no tractor time!
Hope to get back to doing some work and mods on the tractor soon. Really enjoyed the 80 degree weather everyday and just relaxing and of course not having to do anything but enjoying the food, drinks and fun with many new cruise friends! Cruised out of Puerto Rico on NCL. But back to reality and the cooler weather on the mainland of America. We had a Great Time but NO PLACE like Home!

We are leaving Monday for a 15 day island hopping trip to the Caribbean. I'm getting tractor time in now to tide me over till we return!

I‘m sure it was awesome. We’re planning a 7 night Mexican Riviera cruise (Baja side ) in March and really looking forward to it.

We have friends that are “professional cruise takers”…..I think they go 3-4 times a year. Some people love them.

I wish I liked cruises, but sadly the only way to get me to go on another cruise ship, is to load my balls in a cannon, and fire them onto the Lido deck.

Same here. My brother enjoys them and keeps asking me to join him on their family cruises. No way. When I asked what he did to keep occupied for a week on a boat the answer was "relax". To me that's utter boredom. When I "relax" its maybe for an hour or two. Got to keep doing things, got to keep moving!

I'm going to find out. We decided to do a 4 day later this winter. I don't love the idea but the wife really wants to go on a cruise. I like exploring. At least there is a full fitness center in board. That'll occupy me a couple hours each morning until she wakes up

I like to scuba dive, and since I refuse to be "treated like a terrorist” by TSA, I don’t fly anymore either, therefore we drove to the boat, so I was able to bring my gear and got a "few dives" in.

So there were some (3) bright spots.

Other than that, I basically “drank myself sober” and contemplated jumping overboard,…... just for something to do.

But if you like to “sit and relax” and get "dressed up for dinner", and "go to shows” then a cruise is definitely for you. Our friends love them, thats for sure.

Unfortunately for me, those three things rank right up there with "root canals” and “colonoscopy's” on my list of “favorite things to do”…….

Well, I have to say that cruising has to be something that you really want to do! Some people love it and some people hate it and some just go because it’s just too hard to not enjoy it! I have been on about 10 cruises and every one has been amazing. I am a people person and just enjoy meeting new people and making friends along the way. Met a really nice couple from Iowa, here lives in Iowa and she lives in Chicago. They have been together 6 years and have 8 more years before they are able to live together. Don’t know if I could ever do it but they are making it happen. Cruising is all about just enjoying life with the ones you love!

Well, if you have never been on a Norwegian Cruise Line cruise before then you probably should. It’s the only cruise line that I will go on because of the things you mentioned. You can pretty much go as you are to just about anywhere on the ship. That’s why they call it, Free Style Cruise! The only real exception is you have to wear long pants and a collar shirt for specialty dinners, now that can be a pull over shirt with collar and a clean pair of blue jeans. The ladies can wear a nice sundress or slacks. But you can find food 24/7 somewhere on the ship. The staff on the ship try to make sure you have a safe and healthy environment. The thing about NCL that makes me enjoy them the most is, the freedom to do what you want and still have a great time. We tip each person who provides us with service, all you have to do is tell the service desk to remove the gratuities from your account and they will. We purchased the beverage package so we can enjoy all types of beverages at no charge, if you purchase excursions on the ship, can get a better price, so once you learn all the different kinds of details, the experience will be much different and much more enjoyable. I have traveled around the World, I have done All- inclusive resorts and Cruises, to me are so much better. After a couple of days at a resort, you get tired of the food and most importantly the attractions are usually limited, so more than a few days you get bored. On cruises, you go to a different port every day or so, unless you are at sea! So, I don’t have any affiliation with NCL but to me they have been the best for my enjoyment and my current spouse, has truly fallen in love with NCL also! Give it a try!
