Its hard to admit to laziness. But generally not a day goes by i don't shoot something. Whither it's even a chipmunk with the pellet rifle or usually a gray squirrel headed for the bird feeders. But many firearms in many locations never get the cleaning they should. So today I took the time to clean and oil them all. Even the ones in the safes. Attached is a photo of a stevens model 77F in .410 gauge. My dad traded a 12' john boat when I was twelve yrs old for it. Chambered in 3" , I used it with slugs for deer and hundreds of #4 shot went thru it for birds and squirrels.
Mother was shopping today so I took it easy. Lots of good memories of whitetails while cleaning each rifle. A Remington 7600 pump carbine i bought in '86 and hasn't had a box of shells thru it, my nephew tells me they sell for $1500.-$2000. Now. Unbelievable really.
