Help with the injection pump of a Kubota D950

Advice needed from the gurus on this site. And may I express my gratitude in advance, So I own this Onan 7.5DKDFJ generator, powered by a Kubota D950 3-cylinder engine. I purchased it about 10 years ago, and after having the injection pump rebuilt locally, it ran like a sewing machine. The...

Kubota D950 Onan 7.5DKDFJ Help - Water in oil after head repair

False Alarm..... After changing the oil, then running it for 30 minutes, I changed the oil again. No signs of water now, must have been an accumulation over time. No more water. But there is a lot of blow by. Darn.

Starting a D950 engine that's been sitting for an unknown legth of time

Well, a $350 rebuild on the injection pump and she's running like a champ. Wouldn't fire without hitting the glow plugs though. I wired up two 120 volt outlets, and pulled 1,500 watts off each leg, and let it run for about an hour before shutting it down. Now I need to sand blast and paint it.

Starting a D950 engine that's been sitting for an unknown legth of time

Gentlemen, Stopped by the local Cummins/Onan Dealer today to get a few model specific parts for my 7.5DKDFJ. I inquired as to the price of a replacement injection pump. They had a few in inventory, for $650 each if I recall. Also, there were notes in the Cummins/Onan parts system stating that...

Starting a D950 engine that's been sitting for an unknown legth of time

OK, I got a price of $350 for a rebuilt one. Also, when I looked down into the hole where the injection pump sits, there was a small spring seated in the rear part of the cavity. Looks like it pushes the rack forward. I pulled gently on it and it didn't come out. I hope no other parts fell...

Starting a D950 engine that's been sitting for an unknown legth of time

Thanx, I got it out, and I hope I didn't damage anything. I removed the cover where the throttle linkage goes through, it faces the side with four bolts. I also removed two bolts and two nuts from the top of the injection pump. Everything else I moved was just in the way. It seems as though...

Starting a D950 engine that's been sitting for an unknown legth of time

OK, after removing the injector lines, one glow plug, the intake manifold, the throttle linkage (the mechanism bolted to the block with four 10mm bolts), and removing the 4 top bolts/nuts from the injection pump.... It won't come out. Inside, there is a arm sticking out that won't clear the...

Starting a D950 engine that's been sitting for an unknown legth of time

Well I got them, for $1,700. Looking through the oil fill hole on the valve cover, they're both really clean on the inside. I don't know what engine model these are, but they've got "927cc" stamped on the right hand side of the block. Manufactured in 94 and 95 I think. The throttle lever on...

Starting a D950 engine that's been sitting for an unknown legth of time

Thanx. The literature I've read references a D1105, so I was a little confused by the info I was provided. But either way, do you have advise on prepping for a restart?

Starting a D950 engine that's been sitting for an unknown legth of time

Hello Gents, I'm a newb here and this is my first post. Hope I'm following the format and posting in the right section. I'm looking into buying a used Onan generator with a Kubota D950 engine, made in 1994. I don't have the specific model number. The owner bought it used, and has never...
