However, to muddy the waters a bit, HLA forks that are 900 lb and 1200 lb capacity are class 2. So I think it might be more a carriage dimension thing rather than a weight capacity thing.

A B2601 is a B2601, at least to the best of my knowledge. There isn't a commercial or residential grade. I'd look for a new dealer.

Hey guys, thought I'd give an update to this thread (I'm the OP). First off, lots of great knowledge shared and I appreciate that. I reevaluated my needs and priorities and decided against getting the gear drive B2401. Initially I was going to step up to the B2601 but couldn't find one...

Was that price for the 2401 in line with what you guys are seeing or paying?

Thanks for the input jbolt. I'm still shopping and weighing the options. I was quoted 13.6k for the 2401 with QA loader and 54" bucket and 17.8k for the 2601 with the same set up. For that savings I could get a darn good dedicated mower. But still I'm not sure if I'd regret the gear drive...
