    Ditch digging?

I ended up buying a ripper/subsoiler from Everything Attachments. I also bought a potato plow point. I made a few passes with the ripper and it did a great job. I guess the rocks were not as bad as I thought. There are a ton of them but since I was not going that deep, maybe 10-12", they...

    Ditch digging?

Walton area. When I was up about 2 weeks ago the whole mountain seemed to be flowing with water and a small rivulet was running through my basement. Thankfully running right back out!

    Ditch digging?

I had dug some ditching with my backhoe and it carries a lot of water but is is slow going. I never yet bought any implement since I could not decide if anything would work in the rocky soil and also didn't have the money last year. I am still considering the rear blade option but wondering if...

    L35 (BT900) Hydraulic Power beyond?

Does anyone know if there is a power beyond port on the valve bank on a BT900 Backhoe? This is the stock L35 backhoe. I do see a plug on the bottom of the first section on the valve bank (Where the main in and return hoses are connected into) but it is not marked and I couln't find anything...

    Ditch digging?

DonDC, Thanks for the info, I was wondering if that could be done. I did find one listed from NationalImplements that is made for the thick reinforced edge but I didn't order it yet and will take another look at WR Long. I had emailed them last year but they said they didn't have one that...

    Ditch digging?

Wow. Lots of good information here. I think I'll have to do some test digging to see what I'm up against. I'm really in the western foothills of the Catskills but its still amazing how much rock there is. If I just dig a ditch, on an angle sloping down the mountain to divert the surface...

    Ditch digging?

Gpreuss, so not a box blade, just a blade that you manually adjust, no TNT needed?. My 3 pt hitch does not push down, so I wonder if it would be able to dig in?

    Ditch digging?

Hmnnn...didn't even consider the bucket but that could work and I wouldn't have to side hill it. Been wanting to get a tooth bar anyway. Guess it depends just how deep I have to go and how rocky. Seems as if I go more than 6" I'm into the rocks. If it works it will go pretty quick. I guess I...

    Ditch digging?

Water runs down the mountain behind my house in the Catskills and ends up going through my basement. I want to go up the hill aways and dig some ditches running in a big inverted vee shape to direct the water away. With very rocky clay soil what is the best way to accomplish this? I have an L35...

    Thumb Length

Anyone know what thumb length would be correct for an L35 bt900 backhoe. I have a stock 12 wide bucket but don't know the length. Choices are between 24 and 30". I plan to go with a hydraulic type and am not currently near the location of the machine.
