    L245DT Loader question again

Now I'm confused. I mounted it per the tech sheet that came with the tractor. I believe it originally had the double roller chain, and when that wore out, they replaced it with the flex setup. I knew I'd never find another flex coupling so I opted for the roller chain when I found one.

    L245DT Loader question again

By single roller chain, do you mean a single set of links? This is double roller chain, with two sets of links side by side.

    L245DT Loader question again

Here’s the setup before I put the roller chain on. Also I had to trim the bushings down to bring the sides closer together. At first I thought the pump just mounted to the loader subframe, but I know now the subframe mounts to the engine frame. Both sides are held in place with set screws

    L245DT Loader question again

Okay, I managed to get a used coupling assembly for my front hydraulic pump. Its a double roller chain set up, whereas the old one was the flexible spring shaft. I got it put on and aligned, and connected everything up. Started the engine, and it works like a charm, as long as I'm sitting still...

Here you go. If I get some time this weekend, I might remove the block to check out the ports.

    L245DT FEL hoses

I just went back out to look at it again, and noticed there is a port on the side where the handle is. I'm wondering if I can hook a quick connect to it, and run it that way.

    L245DT FEL hoses

The block on top is equipped with a valve. If you push it in, it isolates the 3pt, and sends power to the port on the block. That's not that big of a deal for me, as I rarely us both at the same time. If I'm hauling in the loader, I usually put a weight on the 3pt and keep it up. I think it's...

    L245DT FEL hoses

I have one of the infamous hydraulic pumps driven off the crankshaft. Like many others, the coupling is stripped out, and I've been ruminating on which direction I want to go. I've finally decided to just put the loader back on the onboard hydraulics. I already have the quick connects to make...

Need ideas for broken front PTO flex shaft. (L1730 Loader on L245)

I have the same set up, except my coupling is intact, but the splines on the crank side are worn out. I drilled it out, and put two set screws 90º apart to lock it down. What I failed to consider, is the splines allow the coupling to travel on the crank end as the spring torques up. By locking...

    1982 L245DT crankshaft splines

Not a problem, just a change of focus. I'm back to figuring out a new drive method for the front pump then.

That would be great. Pump is whining, and the flex coupler is stripped. I've got it rigged with a couple of set screws holding it in place. I guess I'd have to ditch the external tank, and replumb the valve too.

I know I'm resurrecting an old thread, but since it's just happening for me, it's all new. Am I right, in thinking this kit would put the FEL back on the onboard hydraulics, and not on the front mounted pump I now use? Thanks Tim
