    B5100 steering shaft ballnut reload

OK..I'm fast at reloading them balls ! BUT..still have a binding occouring about 3/4 way down the shaft. Can't see anything as to why. No combination of balls, ball pipes, block position seems to help. There's no money in the wallet for a new shaft/ballnut($200) so I might have to scrap the...

    looking for a electronic tach

Yup, any micro will do..I just have 20+ years of PICs and it's too hard for me to change, though the $35 RaspberryPI is mighty tempting ! Though I did 'jump ship' and bought this 'project' Kubota....my 5 other tractors are all older Allis-Chalmers!!

    looking for a electronic tach

Super simple, take almost any PIC ( 16F648),add a 2x16 LCD module, wee bit of code and the sensor.I used an optical sensor(think PC mouse) for the pulse pickup, though if gas, off the points works very well,or wrap 4 turns of wire over #1 plug.I used a 4x20 display so I could make 'old man' sized...

    B5100 steering shaft ballnut reload

OK, I looked at the 'how-to' regarding the steering gear rebuild..but..no mention of how to reload all the balls into the 'ballnut' unit. Anyone have a 'link' or 'how-to-do-it'? Thanks Jay

    looking for a electronic tach

Problem with them...you cannot replace the battery !! Only good for about 6-8 years..makes it kindy pricey in the long run. I made my own for about $40 using a bigger display as well.

    B5100DT clutch housing help needed

Long story short ,my 'new' B5100dt(4wd,12hp) needs a clutch housing.NLA according to Kubota, and I can't afford a $600 used one(might not be correct,BIG gamble). While I'm pretty sure I have a B5100, the clutch housing has 'B5001-52765' stamped on the left side. The tranny side mounts with 8 nuts...

    b6200 water in hyd oil

I had a quick look at the B6200 parts manual, hydraulics section.Seems pump goes to tranny and that's all..NO hoses to rad so can't be 'rad water'.Check rad level to be sure, also see if there's any hose going into bottom of rad...maybe modified? Water can get in from shift boot being ripped/torn...

    B5100DT needs help!

Wow , great responses! I've doubled check the tractor and the only numbers I see stamped are 'B5001-52765' on the 'clutch housing', left side, infront of the PTO lever. It's above a pop riveted Kubota aluminum plate ,giving engine model, tranny info, etc. NOW I'm wondering if someone 'patched' this...
