Front Wheels Drive Lever and Draft Control Lever Jammed Stuck Cannot Be Engaged

I’ll try that. I sprayed the small port of linkage I could access or see with WD-40. No joy. i’m going to see if I can see more of the linkage tomorrow. Mike

Front Wheels Drive Lever and Draft Control Lever Jammed Stuck Cannot Be Engaged

This seems a rare occurrence. As noted above in the title, both the lever beside the seat which is supposed to engage the front wheel drive, as well as the Draft Control Lever are both stuck. They are stuck hard too; they will not budge. This is an M5-111 with few hours. I haven’t used...

    Lug Nut Socket Size?

Thank you all for your replies. I’ve ordered a 1-3/8 inch deep socket for my 3/4 inch drive torque wrench. I have a 3/4 inch drive ratchet and socket set (Craftsman) but the studs stick out too far for the regular 1-3/8 inch socket in that set to work. This deep one should do the trick...

    Lug Nut Socket Size?

I'm planning to torque the lug nuts on the rear wheels of my M5-111. The flat to flat measurement on them is about 34.7mm or about 1.37 in.. What size socket do I need for this? Are they metric or standard? I have a 34mm deep socket but it is too small. Should I get a 35mm socket or some...

    OIL FILTER LOCATION ACCESSIBILITY

Good point! Moving this tractor to the dealer would be an effort plus I have another reason for doing it myself. I’ll know it is done properly.

    OIL FILTER LOCATION ACCESSIBILITY

Yes sir. It can. I see that is what most do. And I actually sympathize with the engineers. They have to put all this stuff somewhere! This picture also reminds me that I need to pull my pressure washer out! :)

    OIL FILTER LOCATION ACCESSIBILITY

Ready for my first M5-111 oil change and a little disappointed at the difficulty of removing and replacing the filter! I would think something that has to be accessed so frequently could have unencumbered access. Oh well....... Big Mike

Full Synthetic Oil without CJ-4 Rating Okay?

Wow! Thank you all for your detailed responses. This is a great forum. I’m going to get the Rotella T6 full synthetic 15W-40 and a Kubota filter. I’m comfortable now that it’s a suitable choice. Thanks again! Big Mike

Full Synthetic Oil without CJ-4 Rating Okay?

    I’m sorry. It’s the Shell Rotella T6 Full Synthetic 15W-40. https://rotella.shell.com/en_us/products/full-synthetic-oil/shell-rotella-t6-15w-40-full-synthetic-motor-oil.html

Full Synthetic Oil without CJ-4 Rating Okay?

My manual says use oil with CJ-4 rating. This will be my first oil change. Shell makes a great 15w-40 full synthetic oil but it says something like " Improved wear performance versus API CJ-4 technology" indicating that it does not have the CJ-4 rating. Would it still be okay in your opinion...

    Bushhog in Reverse

I was laughing to myself this weekend while using my rotary cutter On my M5-111. I swear I think I use it in reverse more than I use it in forward. 😅 Anyone else do the same? Backing into rough spots. Big Mike

    Spreader for Cab Tractor?

Now that I have this nice cab tractor, where can I get a spreader that I can operate from the cab? I guess it would have to be electrically operated or something??? Does anyone have a thought? Thanks, Big Mike
