Got it going the crank dot that I lined up with with first time was wrong I trying it by flipping the crank 180 and it fired right up. Thanks for the help

Looking at the crank I have just a single dot do I line that one up with the 2 dots on the idler gear?

When setting the timing gears should the crank be at tdc?i just looked at the crank and the dot on the crank of aligned with the idler gear would be at the bottom of its stroke.

Pretty sure without taking the head off I can see the intake valves all moving properly.

The gears were not pulled other than the crank. I went off the pictures in the rebuild manual that shows timing marks and it lined up perfectly. All the valves are moving freely the only timing mark that didn't show up exactly like the manual was the dot on the crank itself.

I rebuilt a 2007 toro groundsmaster 328 d mower with a d1105 in it because it had a bad rod so everything was done new rods and complete rebuild. Set timing off the manual and it's sucking air in the exhaust and blowing out the intake. Any help would be great before I pull it all apart again.
