    This is my 3pt ballast..............

That SWEET!!!! Do you have an industrial shop or something? Edit: Dumb question...... I could not imagine trying to cut those things. Especially the angled pieces. It makes that that 2 inch receiver look like a little toy. Nice job man! (y) Oh and welcome Edit #2 : What is the purpose of...

    Decision Overload

I sure wish I could help, but alas, I was meant to be a Congressman. So here's how we sell the plan to "the people" (aka wife in this instance): Tell the people/wife this. "Honey, if we put that $26,000 in an investment that compounds annually at 5%, and finance the tractor with Kubota's 0%...

    That was really bad

Like @RCW said, most of use have had "pucker" moments, so we can appreciate what it was like; Just glad you're OK! I would be working on that lock device asap.

    Fire - warranty coverage?

Although it's hard to tell the actual extent of the damage without inspecting it personally, it does not look too bad to me. Before I dropped 2K on a harness, I would start peeling back all the protective coverings and assess the "actual" damage. You might be into this for just a days work with...

Advice on first real tractor for retirement.

Very well said sir! When we first got our place (circa 2020 BH......before hoe) I wanted to a gravel area for campfires. Well I wanted a nice thick "pad", something that was about 18 inchs deep. My wife said "lets just dig it". I handed her the shovel and said "you dig the 1st half and I will...

Funny you should mention steel toes. We used to argue about them incessantly, (think pre-internet style arguments that would last late into the early morning and you would wake up wondering where you are) The argument was this. If a plane (think EA-6B/F-18/Harrier) was to run over your toe...

Advice on first real tractor for retirement.

Congratulations @mailman on the retirement. I am not too far behind you and as was/am in a similar position as you in regard to age/size property/tractor experience. I am closing in fast on retirement, and just about 2 years ago I decided to get a tractor. I absolutely have no regrets about...

    Broken Oil Drain Plug

Way back in the day, the Grumman Tech Rep (Max) told me that the reason they use Heli-coils from the factory on some parts is because, in aluminum they are stronger than if they just tapped the aluminum part itself. And you did not want to argue with Max....especially hung over. He went on a...

    My gutless wonder

Along the lines of what Dan said above. The first thing I would check/compare is the gear ratio of the 2 machines. It is possible the new one has a "slightly higher" ratio so it would be marginally faster top end, but lose the "grunt" that the old one did?
