    I have confirmed it is the speed control cable which keeps you from engaging 8th gear while in reverse. Thanks for the help. Love this tractor by the way! It's so much more than my Jd 650..

    I was wondering if it was a pto disengage or speed related disconnect when going from forward to reverse.

    New Kubota owner and need to know what this cable is for and if I need to reconnect it or leave it. It's on the left side near the clutch pedal and it looks like it might function with the reverse and forward lever. This is a gear driven tractor.
