Tree Spade - latest addition to armada

That's a nice looking project Trimley! In my case, we were going to re-use the removed shrub in other places, so I couldn't employ my wrap-the-chain-and-yank procedure. With the yews & burning bush root systems, I don't think my B3350 could have yanked them out.

Tree Spade - latest addition to armada

Turns out that first bush was the easiest of the bunch. Did the rest of them yesterday and the shrub size & root structures were more formidable. The bucket is 1/4" steel and I had no issues going straight down, angling in and curling or pushing/pulling in a hole with it. It would take more...

Tree Spade - latest addition to armada

Our spring to-do list includes removing a number of shrubs from the perimeter of the house foundation and replacing them with lower maintenance/better looking versions (planted with more space from the foundation). I didn't relish the idea of doing it all by hand, so found a Wolverine TD13-36R...

    B3350 Grille Guard Improvement

Just got a custom upgrade to my grille guard. Since I lack welding skills, my metal fab. is limited to what I can do with an angle grinder, drill, sawzall, hammers, vise with bolts to hold it together. As you can see from the before photo, that worked fine for my version 1.0 - no grille...

Quicktach plate-mounted "scratcher" to clean up gravel ribbon driveway

Since it's mounted, working good and no problems with tearing up FEL or bucket, I'm calling this project completed. I do appreciate the suggestions - as you can tell, a frugality reality check caused me to go from the original SSQA plate configuration to $10 worth of bolted-on piece angle...

Quicktach plate-mounted "scratcher" to clean up gravel ribbon driveway

The trees that line the drive are Siberian elms, which I love. They were planted in the early 60's by a former owner and his kids and they're pretty old, as elms go, so there's no way we wanted to take any chances with anything that might harm them in any way - the trees have outlived the...

Quicktach plate-mounted "scratcher" to clean up gravel ribbon driveway

Scratcher report - V1.0 Decided to scale back grandiose plans (since this thing will only get used every other year) and try to use what I had laying around - so here's V 1.0 When a garden rake handle wears out (or when I run over it & break it), I keep the metal head - usually paint it dayglo...

Quicktach plate-mounted "scratcher" to clean up gravel ribbon driveway

I wanted to do one ribbon at a time with the FEL, since it gives me better control and I'm not twisting my neck as much. I do like D2Cat's idea about the baler teeth - for the scratcher. AKGuy - your observation is correct - seems to apply to about everything at this place - not too easy, not...

Quicktach plate-mounted "scratcher" to clean up gravel ribbon driveway

I've got about 300' of gravel ribbon driveway from the road to the house. It tends to get grass & weeds growing in the gravel ribbons. Due to the old trees planted along the drive and their roots, herbacide, paving and full excavation of the ribbons, installation of weed barrier and...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Hi - Trying to understand your t-post puller, as it might help me with an upcoming project. After doing what you can to cut surrounding roots, you're putting the chain around the root ball, then somehow running the chain over the t-post as a fulcrum before attaching the chain to the drawbar...

    Tractor operating for new owner

Hi and congratulations on your new tractor! There's a lot of good info and suggestions on this site that will help you enjoy your new machine and live to talk about it. You will occasionally read about "pucker moments" on this site - often connected with having one or more wheels...

FEL frame mounting pin fell off!

I should have added that I've never had a need to remove the loader frame and probably never will. I think the only time it was taken off was when the dealer had to replace the DPF (but that's another string of posts). If I ever lose one of those new lynch pins, I'll take a heavy-duty cotter...

FEL frame mounting pin fell off!

I know that the retaining bar was in place when I left the barn, since I hop onto the seat from that side of the tractor. Had to drive over some bumpy parts of a field to get where I was working, so maybe that did it? If I wasn't pretty lucky, the result wouldn't have been pretty - not going...

Simple Kubota Loader mounting pin mod

Had a serious pucker moment on Monday, so I decided to add to this post. The other day I was moving some concrete slabs with forks on the FEL. As I was stacking them, I had the forks at max height (fortunately empty), when I heard a creaking sound and it wasn't a good creaking. Discovered...
