    Low cost rear ballast options

I bought a rear lift frame and cast a 300 pound concrete weight. It’s reversable so I can attach a ripper tooth into the 2” receiver. Total cost was $60 with sackrete and the receiver from Temu.

Boomer here, not military, or police but I read it fine. Stupid boomers might miss it but those phonic clues are common. You’ve all seen this one right?

bx24 loader will not hold position

Once you determine the oil level is right run the bucket all the way way up and down several times then move the dump function to it’s extreems several times too. This will remove any air that might have been introduced if the tractor was on a slope and the pump scavagened air. WAG

Notice where the bleeder is. On the BOTTOM! Perhaps that caliper would work better on the other side of the car.

BX23S Snow Blowing With Backhoe Removed

I’m with unhdsm on this one. The back blade is useful to move the roll of snow the town leaves across my drive entrance and that often contains rocks they collect early in the snow season. By using the blade I get two benefits, it’s weight and it’s service. It also is useful to scrape the drive...

    What happened back then?

Being a practical person and skeptic with at least half a brain still working I’m thinking that if the unprecedented rise in CO2 and methane we know we have released is ignored and the science folks are right we F ourselves by doing nothing. If they are wrong and we mitigate we get cheaper...

    lost another one

I’m 75. In my youth to late 20’s I witnessed much of what is discussed above in my larger family, except for Priapism although similar symptoms appeared often enough related to being in close proximity to any woman but subsided in a reasonable time frame, thank goodness. My male ancestors died...

Looking for a cab for my BX 2230

I’m not sure but it’s 79” from the floor to the high point on my BX1870. It should go through a 7’ garage door if the door lifts fully.

Looking for a cab for my BX 2230

No the frame is quite rigid and the flaps mostly have magnets in them. The price went up on Husqvarna’s site so look around the google world for a deal. My only issue is the blown snow does get on the plastic windshield but so far it's been manageable. I flick some off by tapping the inside with...

Looking for a cab for my BX 2230

Not much. I drilled a couple of holes in a bracket near the ROPS and used some extra parts of the new frame bolted there for the back two poles. Then I removed a couple of bolts on the front of the floorboard and made two cylinders with fender washers welded to their bottoms from more extras and...

Cold weather OPEN station snow plowing/blowing.

I just decided any wind/snow protection was better than my open station but the cost of a real cab was a stopper. Then I got an idea. My BX isnt much bigger than some garden tractors and Husqvarna makes a soft cab! It cost $350 and took an afternoon to fit but can be removed in 10 minutes for...

Factoid about the political comment above: BTW the Federal Education Department spends proportionally little money as education is the responsibility of the States in the USA...

Well that’s not the whole story. They get a Christmas bonus if they have worked long enough, I’ve heard. They earn Paid Time Off which they can use to be paid. If the store is open they can work voluntarily or not. I don’t work there so I’m just thinking about it, not experiencing it. See...

    BX1880 Snowblowing

The tire issue is an odd manufacturing decision in my opinion. My BX1870 also has a slightly shorter wheelbase so the larger tires from the BX23XX series will fit but as you say the fronts(?) may interfere with the mower deck as reported elsewhere. I haven’t been bothered by the slightly smaller...
