    [RANT] String Trimmers

Two words: Pro Head Never wind string again and never get the stuff bound up inside. I spend 15 minutes cutting string to length, zip tie them together, stick them in my pocket and go to town. My 15+ yr old Shindaiwa, put together from 3 golf course throwaways, still runs like a scalded dog...

    G1900 hst

For sale in Upstate SC S/N 113xx 3 cylinder Kubota diesel with 54" deck, including bagger attachment. Hour meter doesn't work, but it quit with 3,770 hrs on it. The motor runs great and the deck cuts well. I don't have the time to fix the small things associated with it - small hydraulic...

    Transporting a tractor?

Found the DOT page . . . http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/rules-regulations/truck/vehicle/cs-policy.htm Securing a load is both weight and length dependent. Raymond

    Transporting a tractor?

Part of my day job is serving as a transportation manager overseeing a fleet of 44 vehicles - 32 of which are DOT certified. We haul scissor lifts & forklifts all over the SE US and I would appreciate a link or reference to the section where DOT communicates that information. Much thanks...

    Transporting a tractor?

I'm curious (and not doubting you at all) where you find the information regarding why one must have 4 chains (or more) to be legal. Raymond

    G 1900 belt issues

Seeing as how this thread is getting so much attention . . . The new shaft & bushings are in place; the idler pulley is polished and deburred; the tensioner arm has been adjusted to avoid contact with the flywheel; and the thing runs pretty darn well considering I now have about $400 in the...

    Transporting a tractor?

Good load chain and a couple of quality binders through solid frame points works for nearly any piece of equipment. I'm not familiar with the bumper or the lower lift arms on your tractor, but look for a solid frame section to thread the chain through. Raymond

    G 1900 belt issues

Found the bushings, in stock @ a local dealer. They aren't the problem. The shaft on which they ride is badly worn, so now I go looking for that. But, any tricks to removing the snap ring on the rear of the tensioner pulley? I can't get at it with 90* pliers or straight ones. Never seen a...

    G 1900 belt issues

I'm trying to figure out the belt tensioner(s) on my G 1900 with little success. I can't get the idler/tensioner pulley to completely disengage despite adjusting spring lengths, bolt stops, greasing the zerk on the tensioner arm, etc. The tensioner arm seems to have some play in it (it did...

    Finally found one

5w40 is commonplace around here. 5w30 synthetic is not easy to find near me for whatever reason. All I've run in my truck for the last 5 years is 5w40 synthetic. I just switched from Rotella's synthetic to Schaeffer's due to the new formulation of the Rotella. Just not pleased with the...

    Finally found one

Interesting conversation, guys. Anyone try a 5w40 full synthetic in their Kubota's yet? I run Schaeffer's 9000 Full Synthetic in my 7.3 PSD with no oil loss in 10K+ miles. I have enough to use in my Kubota and didn't know if anyone had experience with the 5w40. Thanks. Raymond
