Brush Hog-What Have You Ran Over?

About 3yrs ago, I was doing some hogging for my bil on some property he owned in a sub division. It was flat and open with no obstacles to worry about, supposedly. As I made the first couple of passes near some neighbors homes, I noticed a familiar but, forgotten smell and, the ground seemed...

    L4701 dash noises after shutdown.

My 4701 does this also, ticking kind of sound. Figured it has something to do with the fuel or hydraulic pump.? Really don't pay attention to it anymore.

Thinking of buying new instead of used

I just bought a 4701 a couple of months ago and love it!!! Got the same loader as mentioned, 5' bush hog, and 5' rotary tiller. $28,000 out the door @ 84mths 0%apr with all discounts. Wish I had gotten a grapple at purchase but, oh well.

    Learning to Weld

Second the above! Put the $800 towards a good welder and the necessary tools to use it. You tube is a wealth of knowledge to get you started but, lots of practice on scrap metal will be where you truly learn.

Are you adequately covered for liability and physical damage to your Kubota?

I got the Kubota insurance when I bought mine. 0% interest, it was a no brainer for me.

    Recommendations for new tractor

X2 on the mower! I use to cut 5-7ac for my brother in law with him l3400 and 5' cutter, (I realize the 3400 is a smaller tractor) would take nearly 2 hrs when dry. He bought a commercial ztr with a 27hp motor and dropped the time to an hr flat. The ztr was SO much smoother riding I run nearly...

    Harbor Freight

Benn using their stuff for years with very few issues. I'm a big fan of their Badlands winches, have one on the front and back of my Polaris ranger.

    RTV's UTV's side by sides

Don't believe everything you read about those belts breaking! There are a lot of po-po haters out there that love to exaggerate numbers. Also, the new xp1000's, and some of 900's, now are available with a decent control switch.

Any Polaris General owners in K land?

My next sxs will be a general! Like you said, half work, half play. A buddy on my hunting lease has one and it is awesome!!! They are all pricy but, if you are will to travel, you can run across some pretty good deals.

    Grapple claw

Hey everybody. Recently purchased a L4700 w/L765 loader and want to clear vines out of a lot of trees on my property, question is, what type/brand of claw would y'all recommend for the job. Been eye balling the LP sgc 15 series. Any thoughts/advice/experiences? Thanks in advance.

    RTV's UTV's side by sides

The Polaris XP900 or XP1000 would be my recommendation. Both have everything you're looking for plus, the best aftermarket accessories on the market and much, much quieter than the Viking, JM2C!
