I fixed the lift cylinder, and I reattached the PTO lever just to run the mower and get a baseline for what to do next. Right now, the PTO is working, so I'm leaving it alone until it quits again.
Thanks for the response.
I think this site needs a thread of Kubota seal cross-references, because this is an area where they REALLY put the screws to people, and they do not publish specs. A lot of their parts are very reasonable, but seals are nuts.
The OEM seals are clearly nothing special...
Turns out the wiper was too tall. I needed to go to the hydraulic shop anyway, so I took the cylinder. They confirmed that 40x48x5.7, which I got from a forum post here, was not going to work. They installed a 40x48x4.
To be clear, it looks like I got the wiper and inner seal heights confused...
I appreciate the help.
I have done all the obvious stuff. Today I soaked the seal in 150-degree water for three minutes, and it made no difference at all.
The lift cylinder on my ZD326 died. I found info on this forum:
I ordered the seals from Hercules. Today I managed to get the cylinder apart, and the old seals were like cheese. The wiper came out in tiny bits, and the other seal was not much better off.
The inner seal went right in. I used...
Thanks for the help. I saw a guy on Youtube bending one DOWN, so I am not sure what's happening. Right now I'm working on taking the lift cylinder out to repair it. Kudos to Kubota for using soft, hard-to-reach screws that round off very easily, and then installing them at 3000 foot-pounds.
In...
Thanks. I don't think that could be it, because as far as I know, the safety switches kill the engine. I got the lever out, and I am going to see if an adjustment will fix it.
The old ZD326 has a new issue, just as I am about to rebuild the lift cylinder. The deck will engage when I move the lever halfway, but if I throw it the whole way, it disengages. This problem is intermittent. Any answers?
When you buy a Honda or a Chevy, you know whether you did all right, because you know what other people paid, and you know what the dealer paid. With Kubota, you have to guess!
I'm completely happy with the cart.
Well, I bought a cart. I did my best to figure out what MSRP really was and offered 10% off. They took it right away, so now I assume I blew it. But I did a lot better than their nutty original quotations.
I used to be the guy who sat in the dealership for hours and tormented salespeople to...
They didn't actually lie. The quote didn't say "MSRP" anywhere. It said "unit price." But they were trying to fool me; no doubt about that. The quote didn't list any fees.
I ordered a couple of parts while I was there: $39. From Messick's: $29.05. I used to feel like a spendthrift because I...
Well, now. I have been going over Kubota's site, and the dealer--big shock here--was not totally candid about MSRP. It turns out the numbers they cited in the pre-discount price were inflated, so the total discount is $1036.57, or 4%. Not great.
I looked at an RTV-X Crew cart today. MSRP before tax is $28,643.46. They offered it for $25,326.86. That's a cash deal, no trade, out the door.
That is 13% off MSRP, before any haggling. Opinions?
I don't know what they paid for it, unfortunately.
That is a good point, but on the other hand, there is space under them, they can be moved apart, and I don't think my fat colliding with them would be good for them.
