Don't believe it is the female half because the other hose stayed plugged in where the bad one had been plugged in when I had swapped positions...

One did keep coming loose even when I reversed position of connectors (male end on hose), the same one came loose. I was told that that is the way they worked when pressure got too high (?), but that would be a cheap easy fix to try. Thank you for your response.

You are correct about the battery showing signs of failure at 12 volts. But, is the battery always 13.63 volts which is what the calculations were based on? For example; if the battery voltage is 13 volts (still a good battery) that would be 9.23 amps on the 10 amp fuse being talked about...
