I read them years ago. Sorry, I'm not going to scour the Internet looking for them. It really wasn't difficult to test. Put the heater on the pan and observe the results. The problem is that the oil is not flowing. It's parked there. It's NOT just about the numbers on the thermometer.

I've been hit on the side 3 times, but none of them was serious. Glancing blows. Twice in the same E350 I mentioned earlier. The only damage was a bit of a dent in the passenger side door. Not enough to be worth repairing on that old van. One stopped just before she hit me, and pivoted...

Ah. "Coupled with block heaters." That's not exactly a rebuttal to my statement that an oil pan heater does a lousy job of heating the block. Well, it's been proven in lab tests often enough.

People who You got off easy. Good for you. (y) My wife center-punched one at 55, and it was not kind to that Ford E350. Radiator, bumper, grill, AC condenser. All trashed. She was in the left lane, too, but that critter jumped out from a blind spot right into the center of her lane...

Looks practical and probably more effective than the factory version. My oldest son just disassembled those. That guy was an amazing escape artist in his toddler days! Had to build a 6 foot fence just for him!

How does that affect your sludge? Is it recyclable with that stuff in it? My son works at our local plant, and of course he sees the same things you see. It's a small plant - less than 300 customers, but they are creative. Their sludge goes to an outfit that turns it into fertilizer.
