Standard manual vs hydrostatic on slope

This is good to know and I hadn't quite put 2&2 together in regards to these particular tractor physics. Another reason to point downward when changing gears on the slope. Thanks!

Standard manual vs hydrostatic on slope

Thanks. Sounds like this CAN be done but safety first!

Standard manual vs hydrostatic on slope

That's good to know. Thanks. If I can't sell this one for an HST I will need to be able to do this.

Standard manual vs hydrostatic on slope

This makes a lot of sense to me thanks

Standard manual vs hydrostatic on slope

This is very interesting. That makes sense. I'm going to try that on the very bottom of this slope. Very short distance to roll and not steep but something I can practice safely.

Standard manual vs hydrostatic on slope

That's promising. But what do you mean by your last sentence?

Standard manual vs hydrostatic on slope

Thanks! Sounds like you're very deliberate and planned when it comes to hilly work. The specific part about changing gears based on how people are answering I didn't word correctly. I'm not as curious about changing from a low to high great as much as 1st to reverse and reverse to 1st...

Standard manual vs hydrostatic on slope

I have a B7200 non-hydrostatic. As I understand how this sort of transmission operates I can/should not change gears while on a slope; I would need to brake to not roll down the hill but can't move after changing gear with the brake depressed. Yesterday I attempted a very simple project on one...

What is this on the head cover?

Thanks for the background lugbolt! Much more context around this. I was really wondering why they didn't re-circulate. It sounds like it's evolved to re-circulate in newer engines but not without it's drawbacks. "When you get a lot of air coming out of it, and/or oil, that means that combustion...

What is this on the head cover?

Ok. I'll have to keep an eye on it to get a better sense of the rate.

What is this on the head cover?

Thanks torch. About 360 hours and it still is counting I think. Ok. The engine itself doesn't smoke at all. I want to see if I can do what you suggest and inspect the breather element.

What is this on the head cover?

Also just found this. Does this seem right?

What is this on the head cover?

Thanks. While reading your response I thought of maybe replacing it with a clear bottle so I can monitor it better. But fundamentally I'm left wondering why is there even something like this in the first place? Where does this oil come from? Why doesn't it re-circulate with whatever lubricant...

    Yes! Triple. Only the best

What is this on the head cover?

Thanks! Looks like oil - the bottle is less than half full.
