I was able to push the poppets in with a wooden dowel. Only one of the lines had pressure built up enough to squirt a blob of hydraulic fluid. After that all lines snapped into place like normal. Probably a good idea to have the relief tool, if only for safety. Thanks for everyone's help.

I was installing my FEL on L3901 after mowing with my finish mower and could not get any of the 4 hydraulic lines to snap into place. Never had this much trouble in the past. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

+1 I also would never use my l3901 to push down a diseased ash tree. I will use a 50' cable to pull it down if it is hung up on another tree. Then a short chain to drag it out and cut it up.
