What uses do you have for old rubber tracks?

Unfortunately, the cleats inside don't allow the tracks to sit flat. I use old conveyor belt for standing on inside my workshop - works a treat!

What uses do you have for old rubber tracks?

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I especially liked the kids' sandpit idea - somehow I don't think today's generation of bubble-wrapped children would be permitted to go anywhere near something as 'dangerous' as a ring of rubber, supported by pieces of steel, with sand within.... The tracks...

What uses do you have for old rubber tracks?

They're not held together by pins - they are a one-piece moulded rubber track with steel belts (like a tyre) and have steel pins/cleats moulded within the rubber. They can be cut, but it makes a real cloud of burning rubber and requires a suitable tool (like a diamond saw blade). I'm going to...

What uses do you have for old rubber tracks?

Unfortunately, they're beyond that - stretched and metal lugs destroying wear-plates. Surprisingly, I only managed to find one distributor offering a warranty on a new set beyond 12 months (24). The average lifespan seems to be around 2 years or 300 - 400 hours max.

What uses do you have for old rubber tracks?

Hi all. it's been a while since my last post. Been busy as... Anyhow, thought I would ask the members what they do with old rubber tracks off a mini excavator? I recently replaced the tracks on mine and because there's no local means to recycle them (and a hefty fee to dispose of them in...

OK, So I do not need a new tractor! But a excavator? Maybe...HELP!

Last photo is of a happy customer after I spread 50 cubic metres of gravel on a new driveway that I contoured. He was so happy that he asked me to put in a 2 course railway sleeper retaining wall down the full length of the driveway (required modest trenching and leveling). Word of mouth is by...

OK, So I do not need a new tractor! But a excavator? Maybe...HELP!

That was to enable me to drop the 400mm wide culvert pipe into position and ensure there was sufficient fall for stormwater to flow in the desired direction. Easier than moving the mini excavator away from the job and it was in the right place afterwards to back-fill, track-roll and smooth over...

OK, So I do not need a new tractor! But a excavator? Maybe...HELP!

I purchased a Takeuchi 1.8 tonne mini excavator 2 years ago, that was in a sad state. I spent the wet winter months rebuilding it in my garage (all bushes, pins, seals etc and re-paint). It's the best machine I've ever owned, as far as versatility and ease of moving is concerned. I have a small...

    Mx5200 hydraulic failure

Funnily enough, I have a similar problem in my new MX5200 HST with 4 in 1 bucket. The tractor has only done 50 hrs (just completed the first service - whoa, expensive filters but OEM is a must). Shortly after I bought the machine, the clam or jaws of the bucket started doing some strange things...

    BX23S Bucket Trailer Hitch

Thanks. I might have to do something similar for the middle hook/eye on my 4 in 1 bucket.

    BX23S Bucket Trailer Hitch

Very inventive. Would like a close up pic of your welded-in eye/hook in the bucket, as I also have a 4 in 1 and trying to decide where to fix a hook. TIA. I bolted some clevis type chain hooks to either side but need something more general for a D-shackle or strap in the middle.

    Hooks on a bx bucket

Scroll up a few posts to see what I ended up doing. No where possible to mount hooks on the top/backside of the bucket due to hydraulics. Your product is okay for normal buckets but not a 4 in 1 (clam bucket).

    Opinions on post hole diggers

Interested to hear how you store your post hole diggers and how you attach them by yourself. I've recently purchased a 3PL one (no down-force hydraulic ram) with 6" auger and it weighs 110 Kgs, so not a light thing to move around by yourself and I've yet to attach this unit to my tractor - still...

    Hooks on a bx bucket

I ended up doing something similar to my 4 in 1 bucket. I still have to weld a clevis eye to the middle of the bucket or something like what you've done.
