Looks like rust on the right side of the picture. The adjuster could be rusted also. Keep spraying it with pb blaster. If it is really rusted it might need to come off for more attention.

If you are going to put studs in the front tires you should foam fill them and use long studs. I have studded the tires on my tractor. The rear tire studs are the still all original. The front tire studs get pulled out when the tractor is in four wheel drive. I think if you used longer studs...

I think they make bolt on cleats for the tracks, I think they are easy on easy off. For use with snow and ice.

The 75 HP Kubota machine I a thinking about is $75k with the wide tracks, hi flow hydraulics and ride control. I got a quote from Bobcat on their 75hp machine. No hi flow ,no wide tracks and no ride control was 83k. Not sure about the Bobcat engine. The sales guy claims it is their own engine...

The shaft is held onto the splines of the gear box by two set screws in the inner race of the outer bearing. when I get home this afternoon I will take of picture of it and send it to you.

I snow blowed the drive today. Half way thru it stopped turning the auger. I assumed the sheer bolt broke. Went in and got a sheer bolt. Removed the cover found the bolt not broken. Shaft moved out away from the gear box. Got it back together and finished the drive.

If a tractor is that beat up that tells me they don't take care of it. There's other tractors out there. Keep looking

I have looked at a couple new tracked machines. I put my name on one of the 75 hp tracked units from Kubota. The units on order come with wide tracks,high flow and ride control. They are supposed to come in April. We shall see. Thank you for the input.
