    Steering box bearing race removal

Old thread but this is genius. I couldn't get the steering cup out for anything, then ran a crappy bead around the rim with a stick welder and it popped right out. What corrosion?

    Overheating diagnosis

So I've replaced the hoses, thermostat, rad cap, and flushed the system pretty vigorously. I'm not overheating anymore but I am getting a leak around these little circular caps on the left side engine block near the starter and oil temp sensor (see pic). Can I repair these? Pry them out and...

    Overheating diagnosis

Just for the record, I pulled the radiator and flushed the system,. That seemed to help but the engine still got hot enough to blow the whistle after a hot hour and a half of hard work. I ordered new hoses, a rad cap, and a new thermostat. I only got the cap installed, and but that seemed to do...

Yeah I've seen that thread. I don't have that port.

    Overheating diagnosis

Thanks so much! The whistle's still there but I can't hear it with my ear protection on. This thing is LOUD. The radiator cap could be original, no idea. I'll try and figure that out. And yeah, the screen is there and it does get clogged up and the battery sits right in front of that which...

    Overheating diagnosis

I pulled the hoses (which are a little spongey, though no obvious leaks when cold) and the radiator. There was about another quart and a half of liquid in the block and the bottom of the radiator. No oil or gas in there. The screen and the veins on rad were somewhat muddy and blocked. I blew it...

    Overheating diagnosis

I have an old L245DT and it's overheating after a couple of hours of bush hogging. I feel pretty stupid but I'm not exactly sure how the system works or what I should be looking for. I flushed the radiator and filled it with coolant. I changed out the thermostat. When it overheats all the...

    Source for used/vintage parts?

Unfortunately I'm sure. Let's just say an overeager user beat the hell out of it trying to clean it out. Things got scored and maybe a little bent. It's been very sticky and now completely unreliable. But Lance came to the rescue!

    Source for used/vintage parts?

I need a position control valve for an old l245DT.

    Determining a tractor's age

On my very old L245DT there are stamps on the wheels that date the tractor (or at least the wheels) as having been manufactured in 1977. It's the only date I can find anywhere on the tractor.

    L245 Hydraulic cylinder

Yeah, push down or pull up on the arms. It should come right out. I don't think you have to remove the big cover.

    L245DT 3pt won't lift

I think if you lift the 3pt arms the cylinder will pop out. Don't think you'll have access to the "back" unless you took off the cover.

    L245DT 3pt won't lift

Not for the cylinder. I meant all the small ones.

    L245DT 3pt won't lift

You can search for my old threads for pics. Originally I found the rod that crosses between the 3pt control lever and the relief valve and connects in the middle to the position control valve had somehow worked it's way off. It was laying under the gears at the bottom of the sump under all the...
